My parents bought a 4 door Chevette brand new in ‘78. It was far from the best of the subcompact cars then, but by ‘86 is was so far behind it likely couldn’t see the rest of the competition. That fact that it was still rocking a 4-speed manual and RWD speaks to how Chevrolet was determined to wring every penny they

I used to fiddle around with DIY electric vehicles back in the early 90's and the field tended to also attract alternative energy nutjobs with ideas for how the world worked that only they had figured out. The whole DIY EV field was small and weird, so the Venn diagrams of “willing to go their own way and build/modify

I think the question is: would have been significantly less reliable it it had 4 wheels and more stability?

I nominate the next generation of Apple Carplay that will take over the whole dash. https://www.cultofmac.com/779191/apple-unveils-all-new-carplay-that-powers-entire-instrument-cluster-wwdc22/

To get to Moab, can I suggest the Rimrocker trail? It takes you from Montrose CO to Moab.
Once you arrive in Moab, do the White Rim Trail ( ~100 miles of Overlanding trip in Canyonlands NP, definitely take the Lathrop Canyon side road down to the river ) or, if you’re feeling a bit more brave, maybe take a few days in

I’d be willing to be that was a driver issue - did they air down their tires?
Air them down until they're looking obviously low and drive right off the sand.

A multimeter is great and can be really inexpensive, but after a third of a century working on vehicles I found these.things and they revolutionized my low voltage diagnostic process.

Here’s their media page. I would expect if there’s an announcement for streaming media it’ll be announced there, otherwise, press releases and video are there.

NOPE.
4BT’s are heavy lumps, so 100 hp isn’t going to go far. Add in 37's ( I’m sure he regeared, right?) on what are weak-ass Dana 30/35's.
In the CL ad the seller talks about putting a “24v wiring harness” into it, which means whoever tries to figure this cluster-f out has to deal with that issue as well.
I used to

The Toyota Tacoma doesn’t have a V-8, doesn’t have the classic look, doesn’t have the cool removable top, doesn’t have the power of the ecoboost, doesn’t come with the option of 35's, doesn’t have killer crawl ratio, doesn’t have front and rear lockers.
Still, Toyota moves about as many of them as they can make.
I

Good idea!
My rough guess from owning the thing was that the windage and weight of the solar panels ( along with the tilting mechanism ) was barely worth the benefit, though the shade was welcome to keep the car cooler while it sat in the sun.
The car was a two seater with a big open area behind the front seats ( like

I’m in the fairly unique position of having driven a slightly solar powered car for a couple of years.
Mine wasn’t as slick as this one, it was a mid 80's test postal vehicle that had 240W of solar panels (on a nifty tilting mount! ) added to it’s roof by the previous owner. It had 72V of 6v batteries, a top speed of

I used to use one of these running around Key West, FL in the early 90's. A nice little commuter bike for city work, not too bad running up a two lane highway.
80 MPH might be possible under some condition of tailwind, neither passenger nor bike will like it much. Even 60 MPH will be a struggle sometimes if there’s a

MUSH!

I believe the fix will be applied to all ZR2's. I think a reimbursement for repairs is coming for folks that have had the deployment occur but GM decided not to pay for the repairs, but only if folks have allowed GM to download the “black box” data.

My side curtains deployed in January, 2018 and it took nearly two

Two comments. ( I’m the Airmon from the article, so I’ve experienced both the airbag and seatbelt effects ).

First, the seatbelts lock after tightening and don’t release, at least neither of mine did. The driver’s seat belt stayed locked at the point where it held me, but that was too tight to get back in and buckle it

I’m not an engineer, but I drive a 25k lb RV ( at GCWR, with 5k towed vehicle ) up and down large mountains all the time. I NEED engine braking to get down them safely.
While I can’t “wave away” the heat generated during the braking, I can tell you that on the way up my 8.1l V-8 gets really hot ( water temp ~210F )

I like the imagined ad, but ‘aluminum bodied’ and ‘minor rust spots’ seems contradictory.

This.

A Suburban is likely to have cruise. The LC? Possibly, maybe probably if the trim level is right. The Lada? HAHAHAHA.
I would like to have that for a long trip, though.
