Nah Jared, the fact that it was drugs makes it MORE sad. Battling yourself is always terrible because it's the only battle that you have to take on alone. Your loved ones can care for you, but they can't fight with you. And the fact that he'd been fighting so hard for so long? Heartbreaking.

As I'm sure you know, the isolation is part of the abuse. You can make changes now. It's going to be hard and you're probably going to have to unlearn a fair few things, but you can do it. Seek help if you aren't already. You deserve it.

A therapist doesn't JUST have to talk to you about your romantic relationship - if you're lacking in support, maybe that's what you need. I read the Guardian, the Independent and the BBC, but you do still have to read with a critical mind, obviously. And they're better at some issues than others.
