This may explain why the wiring in my 08 Ranger is so unbelievably weird. Apparently they did a wiring change between 07 and 08, and my loom seems to be a mix of the two color charts.

I understand your points, but maintain that the vinyl/plastic (whatever it is made of) floor in my truck is vastly superior to carpet with regards to dealing with snow and ice. Carpets are great if you live in California or other no snow and no rain locales.
Up to the mid 90s (94?) they made wagon versions of the Camry. Those were amazing.
It’s interesting that you bring up the 320i. I had one (e36, 94). I have a 330i now (e46, 04), and despite being 10 years newer, the differences (power aside) between the cars is not as big as you would expect.
Driving in winter with summer tires (see: Below +5C) is like trying to dance ballet in steel-toed work boots. You can go through the motions, but the effect isn’t there.

I think this submits evidence that while Hummers (and Skyline R32s and Ferrari 360s) are a pain for the owner (Thanks Doug!), they make the world a better place for people in the vicinity.
I can only really speak to the Ford PATS system on this, but the key programmers are reasonable on Ebay (I got mine for 150 CAD, and given that the dealership wanted 120 for ONE KEY), and the blanks can be purchased for about 7 bucks on ebay.
