I’m not gonna say this is bad, but a lot of companies made sizeable investments and strategic decisions were made based on that 54.5 number, If I invested X M USD to meet that target, and I’m close to it, and then you tell me that it is not needed anymore, I would be pissed.
It’s OK VW will fill the gap in fines for the foreseeable future!
I’ve often wondered what’d happen if you took a modern, fuel- efficient driveline and threw it in an early 90's featherweight. Like, toss the 1.0L Ecoboost at a Geo Metro and see what happens. IIRC, those things were about 1650 lbs. or so, which is about 1000 lbs. less than the Fiesta that 1.0L Ecoboost came out of.

Tell the EPA to talk to the NHTSA. You can have super heavy, super safe caccoon cars, or you can have super lightweight, highly fuel efficient cars, but you can’t have both.
We kinda do, in the F55 4 door Mini Cooper S, it has BMW’s new B48 2.0l 4 cyl engine with 189hp.
sad but true... status > driving experience for most
BMW should be selling MOSTLY fwd cars to their customers, because that’s who their customer base is: Generic sedan drivers in need of fwd and nothing more but an insulated experience. BMW isn’t a beacon for enthusiasts; it’s just making cars for ordinary people. M division can be a different story.
Who doesn’t love a bag of money?
I realize gawker media pressures these sort of articles into being (because our betters want to condition people into their schemes) but really there’s no necesscary relationship between EU membership and trade. Trade can be far freerer outside the dictates the EU or less free depending on how it is decided to be.
There is no way to tell until they get their trade deals set up but please keep the fear mongering up.
Editors note: every edition of the morning shift is late it hasn’t been ready on time more than 5 times in the last year.
6th Gear: ....dare I say it, but that’s arguably the best-looking sedan BMW’s made in the past decade. Everything’s just...clean, and the proportions just look right for a modern sports sedan. The slope of the front end from the base of the windshield to the grille gives it a nice, taut stance.
6th Gear: We’re doing 6th gear now? Nice.
It must be. The chicken’s already flown.
Would this be considered a Turkey Coop?
