There's something fatiguing about the gameplay vids for this, I felt the same last time it was featured on Kotaku. I never get the feeling these vids give me while gaming, but watching them wears on me in a weird way. Seems like it ignores some fundamental game development rules or something. The idea of playing it…
There isn't one that I'm aware of, so I've got to give Rockstar credit for that. Doesn't mean they don't deserve our criticism tho.
Oh piss off, there's ZERO art in that part of the game. It brings nothing to the table other than to make a tactless spectacle from a shitty part of human society.
Well there's smart satire and tone deaf, heavy-handed satire. This is the later.
Kinda suprised to see this reaction so late after GTAV's re-release. After seeing a video of first-person mode and the prostitution "gameplay" I thought there'd be a much more vehement reaction right away. Personally I think Rockstar has gone too far with some of GTAV's seedier elements, it's just trashy and doesn't…
"... a video game in which players spend thousands of hours farming for relic iron."
So far so good!
The chat additions ought to be interesting to try out, otherwise feels like a really slim update considering Destiny's big issues for me: the random-to-a-fault loot system, and the length of time it takes to level up a character. The grind is hugely disproportionate compared to the amount of content there is to play…
Not unfair, but getting old. What's done is done, Bungie didn't think compelling narrative in Destiny was important... or something. It baffles me, but the rest of the game is fun.
It's on my list
medieval-fantasy Batman game please
it's not about hand holding, it's about god awful presentation and wasted talent. it literally doesn't even come off as if anyone even directed the cutscenes and voice work in the game.
Had a my first experience with the raid yesterday, a combination of first-timers and experienced players. We made it all the way to Atheon relatively painlessly, but goddammit we could not defeat him even though we tried for a really long time. It's quite a fine edge the team needs to walk along to defeat him. I think…
Oh man, just wait until you get to the final boss... sadness :/
Been playing a lot of Diablo 3 and Destiny lately, and I must say, it's painfully obvious how experienced Blizzard is at RPGs (and loot in particular) compared to Bungie. The loot just flows and is part of the fun in Diablo 3, while in Destiny it's kind of a drag and the manipulation (read: obvious grind) is…
I can get wrapped up in item management in some rpg's, but jeez, I feel for this player.
Any word on Mac version happening... ever?
I think the confusion of playing Destiny, while not really being sure that you're enjoying it, is because the gameplay is so damn awesome, but the content isn't really there to fully exploit it.
