... Or with a director of nearly any skill level in the studio with him.

Amazing and spot-on.

If Bungie hadn't assembled such a strong cast, and then promptly squandered that cast's potential, I'd perhaps have less of an expectation. Or hell, if they hadn't produced Halo, which has a much stronger tone and confident story overall, I wouldn't even complain about Destiny and just brush it off as more typical

Sorry, you mistake me for thinking I'd just like more story from Destiny. No, although the fact that they are releasing what should be on the disc as DLC is just sad. What I'm saying is Destiny's story and lack of narrative direction is flat, tone-deaf garbage.

Destiny's "story" is hugely, monumentally disappointing to me. In an age when we (gamers, film lovers, sci-fi nerds etc.) enjoy fantastic content like Last of Us, Game of Thrones, Uncharted & most things Marvel... I expected top notch execution from this ultra-budget game's narrative elements. MMO or not (it's no

Wait, there's story content on the original disc?!

The loot fix is so obvious I can't even bring myself to thank Bungie for it, but where are the PvE matching additions? Give me matchmaking for any event I choose (Queen's Wrath, Daily/Weekly Strike etc. etc.), I don't see why that's not in place.

RE4, and that opening in particular was a milestone for gaming imo. Was never much of an RE fan beforehand (okay RE1 was amazing at the time), but the cinematic quality, atmosphere and restrictive-but-functional gameplay of RE4 is a near-perfect recipe.

Just joined a clan on Bumgie.net, getting close to lvl 26 so I'll see if I can wrangle some teammates once it's Raid time. Thanks for the advice.

Understood on the difficulty of the Raid (which is cool, even if I never get to play it). But they should have a matchmaking option for literally every other piece of PvE content in the game so players who aren't ultra-committed, and don't have a group of 5 friends at the ready, can run the rest of the content at will.

Now if only all the PvE content, especially Raids, had matchmaking I'd have a good reason for farming all that Legendary gear. As it is I find myself leveling without any real new content to aspire towards.

After experiencing everything Destiny offers short of the first Raid, my biggest complaint is still the narrative presentation. With so much well-crafted story telling out there, I expected quality on par with what 2013-2014 has given gamers (or even TV viewers), not something that would make me cringe in any era of

Still playing 3.5 and yes, it is the perfect time to play, 6pm tonight it's on!

This sounds crazy, challenging, fun, exciting, creative and very likely something I'll never play... and I'm ok with that. For the time commitment neccessary and sheer amount of coordination needed to complete it, I'd struggle to find time for this whether I need 5 "friends" to access it or not. But I'm glad Bungie

That is a fun theory, now if only Bungie could've conveyed even the basic plot in a compelling way. It's hard to enjoy what should be a solid narrative when it's so dry and devoid of, I dunno, craft?

Agreed, and it's odd that something that's been in development for so long, is so sparse.

I'm one the (few?) fans that's ok with the raid system Bungie is implementing. And I've barely got any friends on PS4 yet. I think it'll promote cooperation and "friends"' especially in a game as high profile and desirable in terms of campaign completion. Besides, if the raids are that hard, wouldn't it be pointless

They'd better not be gender-specific beards

Short version of the DF article:

I literally just did the same thing yesterday: bought it for PS3 to pass the time haha. Pretty fun game too
