Couldn't have said it better myself...

I actually haven't had that terrible of luck with randoms behavior during Jobs, its just that there's usually way too few of us during any given match.

Good observations, I haven't even gotten around to thinking about some that stuff haha. Although I will say if you turn off the aim-assist in your single player game, any online sessions you join from then on will be with players that also play exclusively with Free Aim (except friend invites!). Everyone being visible

Almost exclusivey playing with randoms, though I've made a few friends along the way in GTAO. Not to say that playing with random people is the ideal way to go, but it's still disappointing the game fails to even group together players because of the limited matchmaking system. I plan to invest time in it because the

You're missing the point of (or maybe ignoring?) my comment. I had no problems with the rollout of GTAO, you'd have to be a fool to think that a beta-free online game of that scale wouldn't implode under it's own lack of preparation almost instantly, which of course is exactly what happened. I saw it coming and while

Not hatin' but definitely complainin'! Rockstar has earned at least that.

Sweet, now once we all have our stacks of cash & and the bugs are largely squashed, maybe Rockstar will start fixing the poor design of the online game itself?

The spec wars have been pretty entertaining to behold and all, but specs aside I always come back to the initial reveal of these consoles. Microsoft completely bombed with their absurd attempt at changing the way games are bought and sold, purely for their own gain. That's all it took for me honestly, even if the

Sweet, I'm 100% in and I hope this little pre-game game experiment works. Still dreading the first time Big Boss opens his mouth tho...

Wow, shouldn't you be off playing GTAO or CoD or something with that subhuman language? Hopefully your account gets crushed by the wonderful Kotaku staff ASAP.

Such as KOTOR...

Just gotta say, excellent article. I've been wondering what a player actually does and what's compelling about LoL or any MOBA in general. Thanks for spelling it out very clearly and with a healthy dose of humor.

There will still be many many millions more current-gen gamers out there in March 2014 than next-gen console owners. The real worry is not when it's coming, but whether or not the game will be any good. I still have high hopes.

Hopefully if users keep pushing Sony will eventually give us the option, in the meantime I may change mine whenever I get a PS4, trophies be damned.

I've never used the Media Hub on PS3, perhaps if they reinstate it for PS4 I'll give it a go? No matter, there're so many ways to take in digital content in my living room that loosing one of a dozen doesn't bother me so much.

On paper, yeesh, not good way to start things off Microsoft. But the actual playing experience? Unlikely to be affected at all.

I'll probably wait for MGS:V just like I did with the PS3 (MGS:IV). Although Planetside 2 could change my mind...

If you're trying to make a judgement call based on an h.264 video file, just stop it. Unless you have a PC & both consoles lined up to see for yourself, just read the article on DF's findings. There're facts in it.

Valid points all around. I dare say GTAO would benefit from a complete relaunch since the initial rollout has been so pre-beta. For an online game with so much potential for action, chaos and general stuff-to-do, it's a pretty low key experience the majority of the time I'm logged in.

While I'm not disagreeing with you in general, it must be said that GTAO is still extremely new and has mostly gotten over the hump of its rocky start. Not cutting Rockstar any slack, but to completely bail on it so early seems excessive. And weren't heists supposed to be a ways out anyway?
