Some of them are posting things like this. They get drowned out by the idiots. Both feminist idiots who reject anything that exposes and discusses men's issues and idiot MRAs who claim gender issues of their own as a means to covertly undermine goals of gender equality in favor of maintaining our culture of misogyny

Compare the damage from young girls in softball versus young boys in, say, cheerleading. I wonder how many articles we could find about young women, say, killing themselves over the bullying they got due to participating in their sport of choice.

The problem with retreating away from "man dominated environments" is that ultimately is self-segregation, and anyone who knows anything should be able to tell you that equality cannot be achieved while one group is segregated from the other. It might make sense on a micro level, but it's damaging on a macro level.

women have enough problems of our own.

You're "what about the womens"-ing in the comment section of an article about men's issues. Just saying.

This is one of few posts I've seen on jezebel specifically about and seriously addressing men's issues unironically. The post opens with a commentary about how some men say "what about the men" in feminist discussions and it is made clear that this is the space for that discussion.

Identifying a person as genderqueer is not enough to clear up pronoun usage. If anything, it only makes it less clear which pronoun should be used. It could easily go toward "he", "she", singular "they", or even any number of unique, invented pronouns.

Who said anything about women should be expected to take a backseat to men in the case of feminism?

It would be nice if those who claim to care about men's rights would start pitching in.

by pulling support for major productions like this that should be diverse but are not

This guy is a professional actor. It is his job. If someone comes to your door and says "Hey, I got a cool job for you where you'll be working with a respected peer and it might not only make you a lot of money but it'll help you get more work in the future," you take it.

Do you really think either of those actors has the same pull as Christian Bale? Do you think ANYONE in the general audience has even heard those names before? Especially within the mainstream, I bet most people have never even SEEN Siddig, although they would have seen Fehr in The Mummy.

There's a big difference between casting a Black lead and casting a middle-eastern lead. Some Black actors have proven themselves to have enough appeal to overcome racist audiences, but I can't think of a single middle-eastern actor who has done the same.

Artists have to make compromises for their vision. I can understand your argument and it is reasonable way of thinking about it, but I don't think it's fair for you to say that an artist HAS TO make those particular compromises to their vision.

But WHO is watching them? And in what numbers?

Tell that to the racist people who got mad when a Storm Trooper was Black.

Do Welsh people look especially different from other White people? Why not just say "White"? For that matter, native Australians aren't White anyway, so how is naming an Australian actor's nationality even relevant?

It sounds like you're preaching for media that would ultimately serve the purpose of antisemitism propaganda...

Ridley Scott doesn't have the pull he used to. He's had a few flops and critics haven't liked some of his latest stuff. He's become kind of hit-or-miss. I'm actually kind of surprised he was able to direct this film in the first place. What producer would put down money on this film concept that's sure to draw

You shouldn't be blaming Ridley Scott either. He's just trying to make the best film he can with his limited resources. Your anger would be better placed at the producers who are unwilling to take a chance on an expensive blockbuster film with unproven racial minority leads.
