Because stupid is an active action to deliberately ignore what the brain is capable of deducing using facts and logic.

Lack of direct acknowledgement does not equate to hatred or discrimination though... If someone sends out a general greeting that applies to 99.5% of the audience, it doesn’t mean they hate you just because they didn’t stop to say “oh and also you how could I forget about you”

Right, and frankly people just need to figure how to monetize and scale up green technology. The real problem is that poor people can’t afford it and middle-class folks have no incentive to buy-in except for the climate change fears that are not front and center when you’re working your ass off just to make a living.

You say that as though the death of humanity wouldn't be a good thing.

It saves you from the lesser hackers who would probably use your information. These big hacks from sophisticated groups get millions of accounts and we get notified and have time to change passwords. without all these procedures, some random asshole could target you and you wouldnt notice until they actually managed

Stories of magic space knights and destructive woodland creatures can (should) have an INTERNAL logic. Good storytellers know this. Hack storytellers don’t. And fan boys don't care, which is how good sagas die.

As others have mentioned, It’s simply immoral and illegal to impose personally held religious beliefs on other people.

You’re describing consent. In this analogy, the girlfriend is BLNR. That governmental body has jurisdiction to issue building permits inside the science reserve. They have given their consent.

A sad day when superstition can override the demands of science.

Again, why is science coming off second best to mythology? This isn't a pipeline crossing native land, it's a telescope. Build the damn thing.

Is it not against the US Constitution for any state to put any RELIGION above any other ? How can this be an issue in 2019 ? If Hawaii citizens, that ‘practice’ the Hawaiian ‘Religion’ that is their right. But they have NO RIGHT to ask/tell the State of Hawaii, that they deserve ANY special privileges or rights

I don’t claim to know all the aspects of the situation, but it’s important to note the groups behind TMT really did try to take native Hawaiians concerns into account when they drew up the plans for this. The telescope isn’t actually being built on the summit but something like 1,000 ft down so as to not disturb the

So they win but the rest of humanity loses...

>I wanna learn about the universe’s creation just as much as the next person, but when a community pushes back, the scientific community needs to listen.

Once again superstition and ignorance win over science.

There is no god

I consider Sacred Ground about as valid as Irish pixies as a reason to torpedo a project. You can’t negotiate anything when it’s a shrine.

What about the majority of native Hawaiians that have no problem with it?

I wanna learn about the universe’s creation just as much as the next person, but when a community pushes back, the scientific community needs to listen.
