I’m sure they can rationalize this however they want to, but the optics are still that they’re killing the movie with a female POC lead, and given the problems WB is having with their white male stars elsewhere, it’s a really bad look.

Jessica Jones always felt like the least Disney-friendly Netflix-MCU TV show. It wasn’t a show about happy heroes in colorful costumes, saving the world from CG monsters and aliens. It was a dark show about a depressed woman with super strength, who numbs herself with booze and sex to make the pain go away.
