The man shines in everything he’s in, but for me he’ll always be Kurgan.

Oh, shit.

Can we PLEASE stop giving ROP a pass because of how “good” it looked? The show was a trainwreck in every way imaginable, and even the money they shot into the looks of it just ended up looking like really expensive CGI, none of it looked real. And that’s what it was. Really expensive CGI with no fucking backing in

I think that the fact that the show completely trivializes everything about Tolkien’s world (ok, they did Numenor kinda right, I’ll give them that) is behind a lot of the online vitriol, mine included. It’s not that ROP diverges from the books, it’s not really based on any books, it’s that it’s basically an 8th grade

Can we just acknowledge the fact that all of the dialogue on the show was cartoonishly bad? Like they fed 30 pages of Tolkien and 7000 pages of grocery store romance novels into an AI and had it write the script?

Good. I’m sorry for the talent, but Nevers was an uninspired reanimated corpse stitched together from the rotting remains of other whedon shows (that might have been cool in 1998), and dressed in period clothing, so as to stop people from noticing that it’s just ambling about, stupidly moaning strrrooooong

I’ve seen the show, and I’m not really surprised it got cancelled. It was fun and had interesting characters, but it was mostly just OK. The first season is pretty self-contained so you won’t be too disappointed if you see it, but for the most part the whole thing felt very formulaic. Might be I’m just tired of YA

Hey, it’s canon and the novels were comissioned in the last like five years. I’m not an optimist but I hold the Thrawn novels as a flimsy shield against the Skywalker bullshit.

Andor is basically a Yugoslavian thriller spy show. I’ve been saying it for years, the original thrilogy and Rogue One are partisan films through and through, and this is just an addition to the canon. The partisan stuff was always the best part of Star Wars (for me at least), and every episode of Andor has me laughing

Ahsoka. I believe in our cowboy-hatted savior, and I believe that Ahsoka will, both as a character and as a show, put this shit right. Or rather, I’m really hoping that the Ahsoka show will link up with the Thrawn novels and have them work together and *actually* save the galaxy while all the other awful new trilogy

Is this article missing the part where the actor says how they ultimately agreed on changing Dooku’s voice? Because he sounded nothing like Dooku from the Clone Wars, I was surprised to read that it was the same actor voicing the character.

Are we sure the last Ahsoka episode was on Radaa? I mean that that story was what was depicted? It’s been a while since I read the novel. I agree with the sentiment that the shorts were just too short. Plus, I want to know the species of that inquisitor and I want more animated star wars content.

Totally agree about the content warning. This episode was very very uncomfortable to watch and I can’t really say that I liked it (I’ve been loving the show so far), but I do respect the creative choice to make all that is implicit in the books explicit in the show. For me it was also very cathartic because I always

I disagree. While I’m not overjoyed with the writing on the show, I think this was a very good and very smart choice because it elevates the tone of the story. It’s no longer just a story about inbread rich people bickering for power, it becomes a tragedy in the true sense of the word. And, as someone else pointed out

I’m just so so so sorry it’s gonna end badly.

I thought the whole episode very cringy, and it made me nostalgic for Netflix MCU shows. While I’ve found She-Hulk to be fun enough, I just don’t think it’s a very good show overall, and it made me a bit sad to see Daredevil dragged down to that banal level.

Is it me or did JJ Abrams shit the bed so spectacularly with The Rise of skywalker that he’s being low key blacklisted now? I mean, the fact that every tv show he’s worked on in the last like 3 years is dead in the water fills me with great glee because the man is a poster child for white men failing upwards in

All that money and they couldn’t find a make-up artist who knows how to conture subtly. Gil-Galad looks like a corpse.
Also the show is fucking terrible. Jesus fucking Christ, Galadriel GETS TO VALINOR and then decides to SWIM BACK TO MIDDLE EARTH. What the actual fuck? And the dialogue IS SO BAD you guys. Three

I’m not surprised in the least. That show was terrible. The characters were stupid and unlikable, and I don’t think I ever saw a piece of media with a worse person for a protagonist. The two timelines did not work well together, and neither story worked on its own. Also, the show was a prime example of how Holywood

Yeah, they stayed away from all the famous this- and that-shaped armaments on GoT, and for good reason. I mean, you can see the rubber wings on the helmet flapping around when he moves for god sakes.
