Did you read the link? GRRM explicitly stated that the Night’s King is a legendary figure and long gone. It’s not the show getting ahead it’s the show is diverging from the books.

For the show, he is the Night King, but not the books.
That’s the big questions, and everyone has a theory. Some think that the Long Night extended that far, some think that only the legend extended that far and they got their story of Azhor Ahai from the story of the Westerosi figure “The Last Hero”. (Not really any spoilers in the link)
Only the North resisted, which led to the remaining Children, already naturally few in number and vastly reduced by the Andals, to retreat into the North and beyond the Wall (more on that later), to the frozen upper regions of the continent.
Targaryens aren’t immune to disease. At one point it was something Dany said to intimidate people, but it’s not true. Also, the way in spreads in the books is by touching the affected area so it’s anybody’s guess how the show will swing it. My money is on no though because I don’t see the plot point of spreading it.
Actually Robert and Stannis do have real King’s Blood. Robert was crowned because he did have a claim to the Throne by birth once the Targaryen main branch was killed in the Rebellion. Robert’s grandmother was Rhaelle Targaryen making him the rightful(ish) heir to the throne as the eldest man with Targaryen blood.…

Stannis’s claim is the same as Robert’s (by way of their grandmother)…
She’s 38, not elderly.
I didn’t cry when Ser Barriston died, and I was more angry than sad when Ramsey took Sansa to bride, but when I saw Shireen being lead to the fire I shed a tear. Not just because they killed another innocent child, but because it also made Stannis into a monster like all the others.
Yesterday the answer was Darth Vader, today it’s Anakin.
House Baelish: Knowledge is Power, and I have neither in this adaption.
I had a blonde moment and thought Aladdin and was like, that’s a really weird choice then I read the next line and facepalmed. But at least I’m not this guy:
Yes, he was also in Flash which is what it’s referring to.
I was gonna post him too, but I figured it would be taken by the time I hit “publish”. Haha.
The show is about him, so he’s not really stealing it from the hero though.
Darth Vader
This has kinda been the feeling with book readers, but who knows? The show’s pretty much caught up on Dany’s arc in Dance (and parts are a bit further such as Tyrion meeting up with her)
Arya (Maisie Williams) encounters someone from her past.
That’s true. Wondering if that was just because the Eyrie is in such turmoil he cannot tell which way they’ll jump for/against a Targaryen claimant.
While I get what you’re saying, it also helps answer questions (such as what special properties Longclaw has) that the showrunners know that the audience will want answers to during the show, thus they have their answer without having to look it up or something.
