The only time I got one that bad was when I tore both calf muscles and one of my ankle tendons. Most mine are pretty minor, but I don't bruise that easily. And I never feel them until after either.

And yet people continue to do the tradition of eating a piece of their wedding cake on their first anniversary. Weird.
Between doing Roller Derby and having a very boisterous 5-year-old boy I always have a gel (similar to this one) with Arnica and Witch Hazel and it works great for bruising. It also works well if you put it on the area before the bruise actually appears after the injury to lessen the severity of it.
My state has one for the Medical field too. Given the amount of students loans needed for those types of careers, and that very rarely do medical professionals (MD’s all the way to RN’s) actually have a big salary when they first start out before getting into a specialty (physicians have at least a 3 year residency…
I really hated their portrayal in the show since in the books they were more clever and cunning that just bloodthirsty women craving vengeance and attempting a stupid plan that makes them all look incompetent.
I miss living Sitka sometimes, but man do you guys seem to get the worst of it in terms of stupid questions.
Um, no.
The only time we (Alaskans) care-when not talking in terms of how high a mountain is-is because we usually know where the “safe” 100 ft elevation mark is in case of a tsunami.
You joke but that’s a running gag for a lot of us.
Alaska and Hawaii are seen as foreign locations way too much. But in all fairness it’s not like locals don’t also perpetuate it. We refer to the “States” as the “Lower 48”.
Yeah. I have a huge list of ridiculous questions we get and that is on it too.
Working the El Crab Catcher on Kaanapali beach on Maui. A polite and (I’m pretty sure) unintoxicated couple is having lunch. I have to add the beach view is great, the ocean, the sand...
Also if you leave near the ocean try using vinegar and water to wash the outside of the windows. It helps clean them better and won’t usually leave a streak.
I really wish the Game of Thrones-branded Clue was one of those ones that becomes real, because damn that looks awesome, and it's definitely more challenging than traditional Clue to boot. I doubt they would ever get the licensing for it though.
In regards to feelings, keeping a journal is great for showing you how specific exercises might affect problem areas. If you have mobility issues, or are recovering from an injury, keep track of how those problem areas feel after exercise. You can see not only how those areas are impacted, but you can also track…
Dark beers aren't necessarily higher calorie than light colored beers, largely because the calories here are also influenced more by alcohol content than by the other ingredients. A 12-ounce can of Guinness (at 4.2% alcohol by volume) provides 128 calories, while the same amount of Budweiser, at 5% alcohol, is 145…
Slightly lubricated works best.
Also, if you already have a blister that you don't want to rub or open while running, grab some athletic tape and tape a condom over the blister. Yes, it sounds weird but it works. Thank you roller derby that that helpful tid-bit.
This is a great idea. Also it's worth pointing out that Andrew Garfield has one more movie in his contract, although Sony could buy him out of it. And even Garfield has said that he would like to pass the torch to Morales.
