Holy shit that was a great episode! Can’t wait for shit to hit the fan next week. Was anyone else simultaneously really happy to see Arya and Gendry hook up but also really weirded out to see her that close to naked? In my head she’s still like 12 so I just thought “yaaaaay!...I can’t look, please cut away”
As much as I love Immigrant Song, and as funny as it is that Patty Jenkins dropped out of Thor 2 and then went on to use an orchestral version of that same song for Wonder Woman; I really wish someone had told Mark Mothersbaugh about The Sword. I was watching Ragnarok at like 2 am a few months ago and timed it so I…
It's the friends you made along the way.
Hodor and Theon, although I think Hodor’s was a prosthetic because it was hilariously huge.
Tron Legacy was great in 3D. I saw it as part of an io9 meetup and walked into the theater a little late so I caught that the bits in the real world were 2D and they did a Wizard of Oz tribute by only going 3D inside the grid.
The rings represent Westerosi history, so the four dragons are from pre-show wars and conquest.
That’s because he has good influences but he’s a shitty writer. Nobody should be masturbating to their own prose and getting other people to read it expecting anything coherent. But then again we do live in a country chock full of people who like to flaunt their stupidity as a virtue so I’m not that surprised there…
I agree but for different reasons.
I’m just happy they’re wyverns instead of dragons. Ever since I found out that pretty much every land-based animal has basically the same skeletal structure, anything with six limbs has bugged the crap out of me because they don't make sense. I kind of love that dragons on this show are giant, scaled bats with the…
I could have sworn someone asked about him and got that answer on the show but I can't find a specific quote or episode for it and wiki says the horse kick was how it was explained in the books. Problem is, I never read the books so I dunno how I got that info if it wasn't in the show.
The prior explanation for his condition was that he was kicked in the head by a horse. One of the main themes of the books, if not the show, is how information is processed and conveyed. Taking into consideration how long ago that happened and how out of place it was for him to be saying “hold the door” initially,…
I never got into the books because every excerpt I’ve seen has been insufferable due to GRRM’s horrible writing style, but what you’re saying about the books makes a lot of sense in conjunction with everything else I’ve heard about them.
That’d be why I specifically didn’t say “stayed true to their book characterizations”. Who she is now on the show is continued growth from the events the show has had happen to her, including stuff that didn't happen to her in the books.
I can buy that they were fighting at first because they were always at odds as kids. I can’t, however, buy that Sansa would ever think Arya would want to be Lady of Winterfell. Their final fight where Arya says she’d like to find out what being the Lady would be like has to have been a fakeout because that one…
I’m with Eddie all the way. My dad still makes house burgers (minus some of the toppings) and it just hits my lizard brain hard. He switched to potato bread and I use buttermilk now but it's still basically the same. Besides, I never use up the buns before they go bad because they’re only good for burgers.
When I make beef tacos I sautée a mix of roasted garlic and tomato paste a little before the beef goes in. I like to do it with 85/15 and leave the fat for a bit of extra moisture in the taco. I shake a little bit of seasoning into the taco on top of everything else too. The way I fold my tortillas makes it so about…
The other cop is Enver Gjokaj, from Agent Carter.
