All completely and utterly true. And I agree - this is a dick move on the part of the company to save a lousy five grand. I would have expected it to be something much, much bigger for them to be that particular. They could probably get every penny back from him in a few years in surcharges and increased premiums anywa

Not true if they are listed on the policy. Would be covered under general liability, same as if any rando steals the car and causes damage with it. The risk of a rando stealing your car is priced into the policy - it’s one of the reasons your zip code determines your insurance rates. But if you don’t tell them you

At least for as long as we still have a democracy to engage in.

As I have long said - no insurance company makes a profit paying claims. READ YOUR POLICY. Understand the rules and requirements, and abide by them. Your insurance company is not your friend, they are just an unfortunate necessity of life.

Assets make you a juicy target, unfortunately. But at least the more you have, the more relatively affordable decent insurance becomes. Massively better coverage is not massively more expensive.

This is the kind of car you need to buy directly from the rich old guy who took it to the dealer every 5 or 10K and simply did whatever they asked. This is NOT the kind of car you buy from the kid who wants to customize. He is (and it’s definitely a he) selling this due to money problems. Money problems brought on by

But but but- it has that M tacked on in front of the 750Li badge in the wrong font size. That makes it like extra extra special, no?! Along with the blackout tint and black rain guards and black painted wheels that probably have silver bits showing through, the M tricolor livery bits all over the place….

Plastidipped stock wheels, rain visors, M-colored grille, insecure-guy fake M badging and “M” steering cover from Temu.

I feel like 99% of possible second owners for cars like this are the foolhardy and unsuspecting. If you’re rich enough to both buy and maintain one, you probably want it new. Somewhere there might be one wealthy buyer who considers it shrewd to keep the $100K, enjoy the luxury and accept the remaining cost of

No doubt about that. State minimum requirements have NOWHERE near kept pace with inflation and are a total joke at this point.

Oh, no disagreement on that. When I was 21, a seat belt definitely saved my life when I rolled five times in a crash. That video of this truck rolling shows how truly violent that crash was.

You get a judgement against them, place liens against any assets allowed by law, and have their wages garnished until you are paid. All varies widely by jurisdiction, of course.

I’m not sure if this is more or less bad than the case a few years ago where a hit and run driver drove home with he hapless victim embedded in her car windshield, parked the car in a garage and left him to die.

To me, this is more of a $3000... especially with the broken A/C. And it’s not like you’re gonna save money on fuel with this thing given how much more diesel costs compared to regular unleaded lately.

As a temporarily embarrassed billionaire, I should be held to the same laws as actual billionaires.

Oh this dude just bankrupted the rest of his life for being an idiot. Hope it was worth it.

“And I’d have gotten away with it if it weren’t for you meddling kids!”

My guess is the dumb fuck uses the bag as a range bag or something. Gun was in it from before.

Senator Wilson was traveling to Hong Kong for vacation when he inadvertently packed his revolver inside his carry-on luggage

>$8K and won’t “recharge” the A/C?  You know the seller is lying.   High mileage cars don’t scare me at all, but they need to be priced accordingly.  This is a nice $2800 car, does not come close to a $8K+ value.
