Holy...just...wow.

I semi-agree, but my Mom was very, very into reading, educational games, all that good stuff, and I still benefited greatly from my little community Montessori school (church-basement multilingual schools FTW!). Either way, I think beginning the education-debt cycle in early childhood is like trying to put out a fire

I agree that early childhood education is vital, but maybe the solution isn't to give out loans to pay for overpriced private preschools?! I mean, what about low-income kids?! Also, what the hell?

The sad part is that American Psycho was a waaaaay better film than book. I read the book, and all I could think was that since he used stream-of-consciousness narrative, people assumed it had to be good. In fact, it was stream-of-consciousness hackery, because B.E.E. is a hack.

I would like to add what I think is an image of their last band meeting:

Seriously...how can they not understand that the whole "Lotus Blossom" construct is horrible? And after that, to release a song that seems to confuse "I said something stupid, and people told me it was stupid" with "my freedoms are being infringed upon"?

I was wondering about that, because if they're using this new song as a response to how their previous song was received, then I think they win the award for Clueless Privileged Douchebags of The Year.

She's pretty awesome on Twitter, I know that. :)

I actually did think that for a long time, but when I got to college, I had a great professor who was very kind and supportive. He also told me that I had a great math mind, and he thought it was too bad I had gotten such terrible messages about my abilities as a kid. I had been treated pretty badly by some of my

I really, really wanted to like her, but she has said some transphobic bullshit as well, and the various things she says really bother me. I tend to get testy when fairly privileged women who are generally viewed as Feminist Voices refuse to listen when they get called out on things like that. :/

Oh, god...I bit the bullet and just barely squeaked through College Algebra. Weirdly enough, I'm naturally great at math, but I have such severe anxiety over it that I can't handle it in class. I suddenly forget how to do even simple things, quietly panic, and once even had to turn in my exam incomplete because I was

Yeah, as soon as I saw his name, my eyes rolled so hard I had to catch them before they rolled right into the street.

I think it was a pretty great ramblerant, honestly. Even though the exact words don't get used, the awful fact is that Black people are still expected to be "a credit to their race", which is sickening. Unfortunately, it's one of those areas where people just don't see that it's still there, and as a result we end up

But...but...that would require viewing you as a person! With agency and unique characteristics as an individual! We can't have that!

Sounds pretty depressingly likely. :/

Oh god, this makes my heart hurt.

Yeah...I think the best solution would just be reasonable sick time allotments for everyone, no gendering necessary. :/

It's really a downer...I do enjoy some of his music, and the guy is a great producer, but damned if he's ever getting another penny from me. There's too much evidence at this point that there's a pretty glaring problem, whether it's a personality disorder, addiction, or whatever.

Ooo! That is a good one!

Yeah, when I saw that I frankly got really angry.
