As a random side note, if you look closely at the character’s ear, you can see a pretty big difference in detail. (Not that an ear is going to have any effect on how the game plays lol)

Ya know, I don’t get people saying this game looks terrible. Compared to Fallout 3/New Vegas this is leagues better. Hell, it’s arguably better than Skyrim WITH mods..

There’s no film grain BS, I’m fairly certain that’s a byproduct of the gif being compressed.

Source: Played 10 hrs of Fallout 4 today.

Yeah, it just feels.... clunky. ESPECIALLY with Bethesda games. I remember trying to play Skyrim on 360 after I spent like 200+ hours playing it on PC... Let’s just say it didn’t take long for me to decide that I was never going to play the 360 version again.

I think part of it is because you can easily work around most of the bugs in Bethesda’s games since you have easy access to debugging.

I like how the framerate dropped to 25 when nothing was happening, but then rose when there was action lol.

That being said, 30fps is the reason I can’t play Bethesda games on console. Plays completely differently between being locked at 30fps and having an unlocked framerate.

Apparently the PS4 version had massive framerate drops when aiming down sight, too.

They will be, but they will all have to go through Xbox Live. The majority of big mod creators will most likely be on PC exclusively because they can put everything through nexusmods. Same deal with Steam, most of the big name mods aren’t available through workshop because it’s much easier for them to share through

Nah, it looks more or less the same. The difference is in performance more so than graphics.

Most people that build PCs aren’t just interested in playing games.

I’m fully aware of that difference; however, it has still been around for 11 years. Your point is moot.

And while I’m at it, WoW is 11 years old. Good day.

“That is what a lot of people said about WoW. 10 years later still kicking Subscriptions.”

It’s all in the context. 10 years later implies that people were saying that at launch. Before you insult my intelligence, maybe have a look in the mirror.

Can confirm. This is exactly why I currently have a sub to FFXIV and allowed my WoW sub to run out a couple months ago. It’s a love-hate relationship with Blizzard because they used to be great and it just seems like they care less and less about being great ever since they joined up with Activision.

The genre was “popularizing” at an extremely slow rate... WoW took that niche genre and caused it to explode. I don’t like WoW that much but you really can’t argue with the facts that without WoW, many people who play MMOs now may never have bothered to try their hand at the genre.

The only MMOs to ever really come close to WoW were FF11 and FF14. FF11 I believe broke 1M, but dropped substantially due to the difficulty curve. FF14 if I’m not mistaken is somewhere around 4M as of the release of the expansion (correct me if I’m wrong, this is all off the top of my head)

I think you’re misunderstanding. All those MMOs were successful, sure, and they did grow the genre, but unlike those games, WoW dragged in a lot of casual players who might not have even been gamers prior to picking it up, whereas those other MMOs were far less mainstream, for lack of a better word.

It’s already dipped enough for them to take a page from EVE and Wildstar, so I’d imagine F2P wouldn’t be too much of stretch these days.

Except then you’d be incorrect because I can name at least one example of a huge success P2P MMO that came after WoW.

It’s really not accurate though. There were a couple games here and there but F2P wasn’t commonplace until some of the bigger games began to transition, i.e LOTRO, D&DO and the like.

No one was thinking WoW would be F2P back in 2005, and anyone who was, was an idiot.
