Pinto engines are pretty common kit car motors. My dad's got one in his Merc Gazelle kit car. Simple, lots of cheap spare parts available, and with a kit car, you can put the gas tank in a better place.

I dont understand the obsession in gearhead circles anout manual transmissions being better than automatics.
