I posted similar thoughts...great minds think alike!

Prices on the early w221s are also falling, and, while not as low as the 220s (say for the price of a new minivan), if one can spring a little more money, I think they may be a better deal. First the ABC system on the 220s was just awful. Not a matter of if they were going to go bad, but when. While not totally

it's a Mercedes-Bent

they need to bring this guy back and ze pimp ze VW board of directors!

I would add that VW in the US is often associated with small cars with good fuel economy. If gas prices shoot up, VW could exploit that perception for increased sales. If I were on VWs board, I would have a specific plan for that scenario, ready to go with the small, fuel efficient cars they sell in Europe.

I think you are glossing over the big issue here - VW in the US is a mess. One could write a book on how they have mismanaged the US market. They need to shake things up in a bad way. Sadly, I think VW corporate is too busy with Audi to give much attention to the VW brand. The A3 isn't going to help VW...the

I know it's a class and not a specific car, but I would go with the minivan. Better at everything compared to an SUV, except off roading, which 95% of SUVs will never do, the minivan nevertheless gets labeled as the less desirable alternative, driven by uunfashionable geeks

in the US, AMGs are often not given the attention they deserve and get in Europe and elsewhere. The SLS being an exception, and one that I think is helping make folks, especially non car enthusiasts, be more aware of AMG...

Judging by the size of those headlights, I believe that's actually an E63....

Acura can build the greatest car in history but if they put the ugly ass bagel slicer grille on it, it won't sell.
