My awareness of Farrah comes pretty much entirely from what's reported on this site, and it has mostly come down to a sense that she is delusional and narcissistic. But wow this clip was hard to watch, and I feel so sorry for her now.

It must take a huge amount of patience and forbearance to deal with air travelers in the first place, who are often stressed and frustrated to begin with. Having to deal with this kind of crap, on top of that, is just the icing on the really crappy cake.

It's embarrassing how excited I was to hear this. I actually got chills.

Seriously. My Glob. How could you not fall in love with someone who says that?

I agree on every single one of these points. And I hadn't actually thought about this point that you made, but I think it is exactly right:

I liked the background information (even as I felt a tiny bit guilty for wanting to know all these details). But I thought it sounded surprisingly biased against Mia Farrow. (I say "surprisingly" not because I think it's surprising that someone would favor Woody Allen over Mia Farrow, but because writers of articles

The Tisa Farrow quotes in particular seem really cruel. The other ones could be viewed, I suppose, as a sincere attempt to explain the inappropriate and unequal nature of the affair.

I just can't believe the arrogance that conservative men (and anyone that's "pro-life") have to think that making something illegal makes it stop. It only makes it harder to do and punishes the people that need to do it. It makes it into a privilege the wealthy can obtain by crossing state or national lines and

I remember reading that as well — that people were almost shocked by just how pissy and remorseless he was, and how he seemed to feel that he was being unfairly inconvenienced.

Love this. Love that it's a brother and sister who really do look like the originals.

I read "camels" as "caramels," and was totally thinking about how delicious that would be even if it was filled with sand.

I have sort of stolen from Lainey here too — as when I posted that picture of Justin Bieber being "held back" from a fight by his bodyguard, and described it as showing a sulky toddler being placed into his carseat. I just find her observations about celebrities to be very good.

I agree on all counts.

Oh, definitely. I think it's best that people who are rushing to judge the situation do their best to inform themselves of all the reported facts, whether or not those facts support their view of events. I thought the Vanity Fair piece a little while back was excellent — not impartial, again, but thorough and

Many people have cited this here already, and many people have noted that it's written by a close friend of Woody Allen's who is (by his own admission) not impartial.

At this point, I know I'm not looking at this with an unbiased eye and may be reading something into nothing — but that poor girl's expression, and the way she's holding onto the rail and protecting her body with her arm, make my heart ache for her.

That's an interesting question, but I think it's a different issue. My post was about the public reaction to the allegations, which seem very, very different from the public reaction to other similar allegations that make the news. (It's not the best example for this specific point, but I remember that — in the Penn

Sigh. As soon as I posted this, I noticed all these typos and awkward phrases that I really want to edit now. And I can't find the "edit" option that I swear used to be here.

You are exactly right (on all these points), and I should have included that example as well — the way that some people needed to believe that Trayvon Martin was an absolute good, as if this were necessary for their belief that Zimmerman had acted wrongly.

I err on the side of believing her as well, but this does not end with me needing to subject Woody Allen to excessive vitriol or to express outrage that he continues to live his life. People hate ambiguity and so feel the need to pick sides, to demonize one person and valorize the other. Neither of these is necessary.
