to be fair that is basically the plot of the Cuban missile crisis. Economically small and challenged dictatorship that is aligned with Russia seeks nuclear weapons (from Russia) to use as a deterrent to American intervention.

most of Musk’s wealth appears to be in equity from tesla and spaceX, and there are restrictions on how much he can sell at a time etc. thing is if he sold a good chunk it would tank the equity value hurting both companies so I don’t think he is very liquid.

that is crazy talk. who would ever consider going without car insurance? that would be grossly irresponsible and thankfully is illegal in most states

i assume they will be able to deny loads of claims. they’ll know people were speeding. they’ll have video of them running red lights, etc. etc.

1) Highly likely the drivers are part of a compromise with the city due to safety concerns of officials who don’t trust self driving tech. Willing to bet that there will be a plan shortly after launch to transition away from human drivers.

“They had to make them hard to buy because the volume was too high... Why make the change and treat them differently from every single model and trim that they sell if there’s no problem to solve? Businesses just don’t do things like that”.-

1) making them hard to buy keeps volume down. So yeah, sounds like you don’t have any sources showing large volumes for that varient

had a similar situation. after being told that no show meant the second leg was canceled customer service eventually straightened it out. took a long time and a lot of “I’d like to speak to a manager”

I can’t find any sources that show the $35,000 version being ordered in any significant quantity. I agree they cant make a profit on those, yet, and that is why they are keeping off menu and upselling. They felt they had to offer it because of the statements that they would, from back in 2016, but it is clearly a

I expect the model s and x sales to rebound now that new production has the capability to use super charger V3 (not to mention slightly improved range and power). That coupled with the definitive shoot down of a complete model refresh should do the trick.

cars that don’t excite people..... right. The model S is still one of the best looking cars in it’s class and the model 3 is on pace to be the best selling sedan in America and Europe, full stop, in 2020.

i have no idea where your animus is coming from but w/e. the point is that from Tesla’s perspective they clearly don’t see an advantage of doing the industry norm of taking an entire assembly line down for weeks or months to do big model year changes. they instead do incremental changes to small parts of the line over

how is it that new drive train components are any easier to integrate then new dashboard components? They aren’t stamping out or molding or however they make the dash board in the middle of the line.

Except tesla doesn’t do manufacturing like everyone else. The retooling is largely done by adjusting the versitile robots that do most of the work. They didnt do a massive retool to incorporate the raven tech. And they will find ways to make changes without requiring a full rework of the cabin. It is a different

If a refresh of the S was formally announced sales of the S would plummet until the new design becomes available.

Bsed on musks response and the recent raven drive train updates my bet is a series of small changes over the course of the bect two year.

the point is there is a big difference between:

it really didn’t stand out to me at all. the series is fantastic. you should totally give it a go

the cost to build the tunnel and time to completion were much quicker then industry would have provided. Look at teslas. Look a the roadster and then the model S and now the model 3. They iterate. Expect the next tunnel to be orders of magnitude more then this first one.

It seems like the phrase “dont let the perfect be the enemy of the good” is lost on this author.
