seems that way. what a waste, but I’m sure plenty of people got very nice dinners and golf trips to keep quick kill as the system of choice during that time

Still doesn’t explain why we would use a close air support weapon for a tactical strike. Unless you are thinking we have special forces in Aleppo, being bombed by Russia... which would not work out well for anyone involved.
I think it is AA (for anti aircraft which is what I think you were going for), not AAA which is the auto support group
yup
Mapping every road would be a huge undertaking and require constant updating... kinda like google maps street view? They just need to update the street view car sensors.
A lot of companies (Volvo, Mercedes and Google included) have stated that they will take ownership of the liability issue.

considering car accidents are the number 1 cause of young adults, with a total count of 40,000 deaths a year across all ages I would be shocked if self driving cars did not become mandatory. If 1,000 people a year died due to glitches that would be a tremendous improvement over the status quo.
well, we can thank Turkey for demonstrating that NATO members can shoot down Russian warplanes that violate their air space with no repercussion. Sets a nice president for how we should respond if Russia gets more active in Ukraine and ends up flying sorties in western Ukraine which would put them near NATO borders.
If you read the article it is 90,000. And they expect to sell that many again next year. http://insideevs.com/tesla-producti…
There will definitely be a transition period. As people like me buy in, the fleets of cars available will grow, allowing for move availability and more buy in from other people. Regarding the whole cleanliness factor, I was thinking about that too. Their may be premium care clubs that provide nicer cars that are…
Well the whole idea of personal ownership of cars is going to change in urban and suburban areas, especially for individuals that do not use cars for their whole commute. Does it make sense to own a car when you can have an Uber (without the driver) pick you up any time and bring you any where? I have a car, but I…
talk about a mechanic’s wet dream
I’m guessing it was to keep the vehicle in the correct attitude as it was dragged through the air for testing. It would provide a constant leveling force that would prevent the nose from tipping too far forward or backward. Probably similar in concept to one of these https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sea_ancho…
There are a lot of replies here but they are pretty dismissive of the utility of the shuttle. I would say this, in addition to the orbiting of equipment which as and will continue to be done by pure lift systems we needed (and still need) a vehicle that can lift crew, and safely bring back delicate equipment and said…
In the extreme I would imagine if the car doesn’t think it is safe to proceed it will slowly come to a halt. For example, if there was a huge storm the night before and as you drive you come across part of a highway that is washed out.
lol. As a guy I have found the online dating thing at least helps you meet people that are vaguely interested in the same thing. Some girls ignore the cliche but it is MUCH harder for guys (assuming you don’t have a six pack that you insist on showing off everywhere, and then it seems like you meet idiots and possibly…
I’d guess the whole ‘not logging in regularly’ thing is a behavior they are trying to discourage. When I used tinder I would get matches, but only about a third (at best) would ever respond and I never knew whether it was that they weren’t interested in chatting or simply stopped using the app for a period. Definitely…
It really depends. If we get to a near 100% adoption of automated cars and trucks (lets say 50 years from now) there won’t be any reason to go through all those hoops. At the end of the day there won’t be increased risk of accidents due to congestion in cities or what not, it’ll just come down to random chance of…
sure, higher prices, but no monthly insurance premium so in the end it’ll end up saving the consumer money
