I’d rather have Steph than either guy myself, but we’re like two weeks removed from “Durant in the best player in the league!” so that feeling is certainly out there.

Iggy’s back seizing up in 2016 was one of the big reasons the Warriors lost that title. You can just go watch that over and over if you want to see him deteriorate.
1. You’re right of course
It’s exceedingly bizarre the two consensus best players in this series are probably leaving their teams this summer.
Levi’s is such a pit, man. I caught a US/Columbia soccer game there and it was such a comedy of errors. Warm beer, lines that snaked in front of bathrooms, $40 to park a mile away, just everything about it was bad.
The Coliseum/Oracle is just so much easier for everyone, including the vast majority of SF residents. I catch way more A’s games than Giants games for this reason (plus to the facts I don’t really care about baseball and just want nice weather and some tailgating, which Oakland excels at in both regards).
Finally, a convenient way to get from Larkspur to Rohnert Park. It’s exactly what commuters need.
That’s interesting. Can imagine getting into the city during rush hour might be less miserable (I used to reverse commute from SF-to-Oakland and it was largely a delight).
Poway, baby. Embrace the majesty!
The fact that ownership financed Chase themselves is obviously a plus and I don’t think most fans begrudge Lacob & co. for moving, at least the ones that remember the Cohan years, when sniffing the playoffs was borderline unattainable. They just don’t exactly like it. Count me solidly in that group.
Y’all should finally get a BART stop up there. You know it’s a good idea. Tell your neighbors.
I mean, I get that SF will finally have a large concert venue better than *holds nose dramatically* Bill Graham and that Lacob and company will be making gobs of money but Eric Clapton jerking off on a Strat for a couple hours in September doesn’t really have much to do with whether Warriors fans are happy the…
Yup. Watching Jason Richardson dunk on some unsuspecting scrub in a game the Warriors would eventually lose 130-113 was certainly worth eight bucks.
The 100s are bad now but the 200s are still pretty fun and loud (and at least vaguely affordable). Nobody’s taking a client to be “seen” up there, after all.
After four years of doing national anthems during the Finals, Train is so sad you didn’t use them for this burn.
Add to that that Oakland is so much easier to get to than the new joint is going to be. Chase is a decent walk from BART and taking whatever MUNI line down there on game day is going to be a unique misery. Bailing on Oakland is also bailing on the rest of the East Bay and South Bay. Nobody’s gonna be playing Luniz and…
For Bay Area folks out there: have you met a single person who’s enthusiastic about the move? Because I have not.
For what it’s worth, their basketball stuff is mostly good and the Open Floor podcast Sharp & the departed Ben Golliver do twice weekly is probably my favorite general NBA podcast. Just wanted to get that in here before they “pivot to video,” by which I mean “90 second videos of Bar Raffael festooned with Imagine…
“You know I’m right, because the aliens have not revealed themselves to disprove this very blog, which I am certain they would read if they were real, which they are not.”
Your move, Bakersfield.
