I didn’t think I could be shocked by grotesque callousness after the last couple years, but I guess I was wrong.

Elon’s not gonna pork you, champ

That trip was dirty as hell! Has this always been Embiid’s thing or is Ben Simmons rubbing off on him?

See also: Kahlil Mack’s Raider’s career, Steph Curry before he went for 50 at MSG, Mike Trout, arguably, essentially any King or Blazer or heaven forbid, West Coast hockey. But if you check Twitter, don’t worry, you’ll definitely hear about the problems with the subway.

It’s so rare to see a dude who’s both way better than everyone he plays against and tries harder than everyone he plays against. I’m completely demoralized just watching those highlights.

They’ve all involved non-Knicks lighting up the Knicks or Jeremy Lin being good for a month.

Probably just feeling the lingering effects of the broken hand from the Finals.

I was just talking with a buddy about the fact that, in spite of their reputation, most sports debates are actually more nuanced and grounded in reality than political ones. If the Bucks lose, we all saw the Bucks lose, and we can have a discussion about why. Sadly not the case in politics nor in political media.

Brothers K is number one. I’ve given that book as a gift at least a dozen times and never once have I heard anything other than glowing reviews. Papa Toe for life.

White shirts, white hair, white fan, race attack.

Yeah, I’m not sure what the deal is with Boston. Hayward in that Warriors game sorta blew my mind and if they can get to that level with any consistency, they’re terrifying. The East teams are all fairly tight and I could see any of those four making it to the Finals, depending on how the matchups break and who tweaks

Giannis has been so much fun this year. I mean, he was fun last year too, but the upgrade from Prunti to Bud is staggering–it feels a bit like when the Warriors went from Mark Jackson’s bogus, iso-Harry Barnes offense to Kerr’s free-flowing, let-Steph-cook offense. Everything revolves around Giannis, the roster is

Just goes to show you LeBron knows he should stay away from a team owned by legacy kid in a large market without a track record of success.

Honestly, it’s amazing he’s been the best player in the league for this long. What’s it been, about a decade? That’s insane! And he’s at worst a top 5 guy right now. Not exactly a precipitous fall from grace.

I like my best player to make the playoffs. Seems like a reasonable criteria.

We’re talking around each other a bit here—he does look like the guy who took the leap in SA while also being babied in Toronto. He’s great! My small quibbles are the stuff that separates Kawhi from being the best guy vs. a top 5 or 10 guy is all.

I mean, 27 ppg isn’t as impressive if you get to take a game off every week or so, right? Averages tend to come down when guys have to tough it out once in a while.

I agree about all these guys minus Kawhi (it’s a lot easier to look great if you skip every third or fourth game). Would probably go Durant, though Giannis is one Finals run away from having a solid case.

So, real question: do we still reflexively call LeBron the best player in the league? And if not, who is?

For what it’s worth, there are seats for the Mavs game in a couple weeks that cost the same as identically-located WCF seats did during the first championship. And whether it’s apathy or price (likely both), the crowd is definitely worse the past couple years.
