to be fair it seems pretty dangerous. as a Californian, I watch motorcyclists narrowly avoid getting biffed every time I’m in traffic. That risk should be the choice of the motorcyclist though, I suppose.

It looks pretty great, tbh. Easy-to-ride, low-maintenance electric motorcycles could bring a lot of young Americans into riding. I hope they keep the price down around $5000, though. The Volcon Grunt looked pretty good too, until they slashed its power delivery and raised the price to $8000 at the last minute.
Every bike is built for lane splitting. It’s just the whiny “It’s not faaaaaair!” motorists have an issue with it so they add to the congestion by making it tougher for cyclists.
Behold the E911.
An auto-pilot system in a Tesla is designed and intended to relieve the diver of some strain during a long drive. It does not absolve the driver of the responsibilities to, among other things, keep an adequate visual lookout, monitor navigation and signs, and be ready to take over control at any moment. Equipping…
What’s the speed limit in those parts? 65? I’m legit asking, i have no idea, but regardless, me thinks that any car hitting that fucking thing would have a hard time not going through its own ass like the Tesla did. I see the point about the battery cells and the fire, but this thing prolapsed into itself just about…
I wonder if autopilot followed the wrong white lanes...
Here’s the gore point that the car ran into... no water barrels, tires or other protection.
The drivers are still supposed to be attentive while using auto pilot. It sounds like most (if not all) of them are expecting the car to do everything for them while they read Jalopnik.
An ICE car hitting the same barrier at the same speed would have likely killed all occupants by shoving the engine into the trunk.
Yeah, except the Chesapeake isn’t international waters, and we haven’t recently annexed Mexico in a sham referendum. So not quite the same thing.
I’d rather get a Lotus Carlton if I’m getting a 90's performance sedan. Currently old enough for import (90-92) and at one point was the fastest sedan in the world.
The older I get, the more I appreciate the fact that at dusk one grey pathway looks like another grey road looks like another grey frozen lake. I completely understand how something like this could happen.
I hope that magistrate enjoys his new Elise!
The worst part about it is that he worked so hard to get it herself
What LongBow means is, underpaying is when someone has ‘too much money’ as defined by LongBow. And then not giving most of it to his employees because class envy. LongBow politics 101
I think Koolen pooped his pants from the close call and is acting like a little bitch about it.
So basically an amateur asshat on an ATV is blaming one of the most experienced rally drivers ever in the worst, Trumpiest way (flashing credentials, offering 0 proof, etc), and expecting some sympathy? Either Sainz had a really shitty hotel experience and is paying the guy back, or Koolen’s in for a world of ridicule…
“I’m a businessman and have access to a lot of good lawyers, maybe the best lawyers in the world, better than these organisations have themselves,” said Koolen. ...
I was in traffic once in front of a lifted truck that had a bug deflector on the hood, on which was written, in reversed vinyl letters ambulance-style, “SLOWER TRAFFIC KEEP RIGHT.” My man.
