I would look seriously at a Velite 6. (the wagonish Volt variant) if it were sold here. The main objection to the Volt I hear from people who looked at it but didn’t buy it was that it lacks rear seat and cargo space. The Velite 6 would at least be an improvement on one of those.

In the E.U. pedelecs are limited to 25 KPH, after which the assistance cuts out. You can still go faster under your own power or down hill.   It works the same in North America except the limit is 32 KPH.  In both markets you can buy bikes with faster limits, but they are not road legal.
