@brianxl: Toronto has an Avenue Road.

@SmaartAasSaabr: Which would still be slower than a '79 Civic CVCC
"Mines pretty economical too. It'll go 700 km. on a tank."
@smalleyxb122: Romancing the Brougham?
@teeseehee: I count his following distance at about one second, about half what is generally recommended, but about twice what most drivers give.
Chinese ownership is having an effect.
@87Bingham'sFamilyRestaurant I miss you: Guess you'll just have to buy one (a road) then.
This is pretty twisted marketing. Imagine Ford getting a letter from Lloyd Blankfein, praising the 2.3 litre Ecotech. Would they publish it?
Was the letter from Clyde Barrow fake too?
I'm waiting for the day I see a Nissan Leaf towing a trailer with a generator on it so they can charge on the go.
@Maymar: Because of the odd tyre sizes of the Canadian spec (diesel) Smart, only one snow tyre is available. (Well, two- different sizes for front and rear) They're made by Continental, only available through Smart dealers, and they cost a fortune.
@JuanOxido: from a musty era, no less.
@Hepcat_AU: My fear is that in the hands of the Chinese, a car that was ahead of its time would be reduced to a knock-off with a stone age chassis. It's dangerous to bring greatness to Beijing.
@smokyburnout: www.ibcjapan.co.jp lets you bid directly on auctions in Japan, rather than restricting you to their own inventory. We used them to buy a car for our time in Malawi and Mozambique. It worked well. www.amayama.com has specs on japanese cars, so you can know what you're buying.
@bzr: More like infinite improbability, by the looks of it.
Nightmare scenario: Geely, or Brilliance, or Chery, or some other chinese company builds a DS lookalike knock-off on a built-under-license Hyundai Pony chassis.
Coulda been worse.
@Nik Lal: Must have been Switzerland, am I right?
Until the day we get the Jalopnivision we all want, how about a thread in which we can propose:
