Mosques and Synagogues are a minority group, so yes should be protected. You literally can protect some churches and not others.

Because churches aren't part of a stigmatised minority so don't need protection from hate crimes.

African American churches can be covered without needing to cover churches broadly.

That sounds like it could be badly misused to defend some pretty awful shit. Want a bet that churches are included in there for example? Not that anyone should be vandalising churches, but it also isn’t a hate crime.

No she doesn’t you blithering muppet.

It's his body so I don't care.

It was the two women cops who did the search, one of them threatening to break her legs if she didn't comply.

In the original article it mentions the policy hasn't had any measurable effect.

Yeah at best it seems to move the rape to a different women who wasn't fortunate enough to park in one of these spots.

ok I apologise

I’m telling you this policy has been used as a substitute for dealing with rape, as the study done on its effectiveness shows and as evidenced by Germany's overall rape level. If this policy was part of a whole raft of other policies it would help, but it doesn't and hasn't.

Well given that Germany has as high a rate of rape as any other country in the West it would suggest my theory is born out in the facts, wouldn't you say?

You can be disingenuous and interpret it like that if you want, I phrased it poorly but if you really think I believe stranger rape is a myth then there is nothing for us to discuss.

That’s not what I said or meant. I meant the myth that stranger rape is the main rape that occurs, this type of preventative measure serves to support that and as I’ve also said below could be used to blame victim.

I meant the myth that most rape is stranger rape.

Yeah, 'oh you were attacked, well did you park in one of the Women's spots? No. Oh well, what did you expect then?'.

Yeah that was a stupid comparison.

The sexual assault thing seems to give credibility to the myth of the ‘stranger rape’ but if it does reduce sexual assault by even a tiny % it seems worth it? I don’t know. Seems like a kind of silly way to pretend you are dealing with sexual assault and an equally silly thing to complain about.

People still illegally sell alcohol and tobacco, does that mean they should be made illegal?

Yeah I am sure father's do it to mothers as well but my cousin has been in a situation where the mother of his child has basically 100% control over custody access and changes it at a moments notice.
