Googled this out of curiosity to see who this shop is, and found this ad from August 2021:

What’s the old car restoration joke? The last 10% is 90% of the work?

Have fun tracking down a assortment of parts that you didn’t put away and label yourself.

This smells strongly like a mechanic’s lien vehicle - the seller was originally contracted to restore the car, but then the original owner lost interest, ran out of money or died - and the shop is trying to recoup the money they have outlaid.

ND, but holy crap I want that spine chassis to make into a glass top dinner table or something.

I’m not a credentialed “Lotus Builder” but are the 4-pot Series 1 Esprits really desirable enough to justify that price, especially when the onus of reassembly is being passed to the buyer? I’m seeing plenty of well-maintained Series 1 cars on auction sites for about 50-60% of this asking price, that don’t require

NP. I wouldn’t bother with an old Z that wasn’t manual and twin turbo’d, but this one looks great for under 9k.

The next 2 years are when the dice go in the shaker. So the seller is definitely moving it at the right

It’s a hatch! It’s practical!

The Seattle car market is insane. Everything is 20% more than it should be here. Right now I’m looking at buying out of state and shipping because it’ll save me a couple grand.

I mean good for you, but that price is insane.

INFLATION,

Looks like it sold already... soooooo.... nice price?

Agreed... I really like these cars, but it’s just not worth a lot of money in my opinion. From the point you made, add in the mileage, I just don’t think this is more than $10k. I saw another commenter saying the turbo upgrade is better than original, which I’ll have to take his/her word for it, but either mods don’t

Something, something, climate change is a hoax, something.
