But you didn’t see Ford rebranding the Escort as “ET by Bentley” for a reason - because unlike GM, Ford could figure out that no one would be fooled
Great article! And my best friend and I do exactly that...crank the music and work on our cars on weekends together. Fortunately, my wife indulges in my wrenching hobby because 1) she knows I love it and 2) it saves a ton of money, and my buddy’s wife is into cars so, like us, she can afford to own the toys she wants…
I was thinking that for $5,500 you could by one in the UK that was actually built RHD, ship it to the US and still have some cash left.
Mine only made it to 55,000.
1 USD = approx. .75 AD
Second Gen Prius is the same! Why do they design a car without changing a light bulb in mind???
It’s actually quite simple. yes, it’s driven of the timing chains, but the pump itself is at the front lower right of the engine. You can easily access it from underneath. It takes longer to refill and bleed the cooling system than it does to change the pump.
You’ve clearly never owned or driven one. They are fantastic. Even the A4 Avant with the 2.0 turbo 4 are a blast.
I have 2 2008 Audis - S4 Avant and RS4. I maintain them religiously with LiquiMoly oil. Never had a single issue. People’s problems are they assume all cars are Hondas or Toyotas and get lax with regular maintenance. You can’t do that with German cars or they will bite you in the ass (wallet)!
This price is actually on the low side for an S4 Avant with the timing chains done. When I was looking for mine, anything with the chains were in the $18-$24k range. There were a couple on BAT that went for nearly $30k, but that’s because of the absurd bidding on BAT. I bought my single owner-maintained by the book…
Exactly! Don’t call it “Autopilot” for fuck’s sake!
Umm...nice try. You pollution argument goes right out the window because most of the electricity in the majority of the US is generated by coal. And while “with proper route planning” you could get to Indy in a day, that certainly does limit you to where you can go. That’s a large part of the joy of driving...taking a…
How’s Trump’s colon look from your perspective? I mean your head seems pretty far up his lying, cheating ass!
I don’t care what era it’s from. 220 hp from a 5.0 LITRE V-8 is crap!
I worked with a guy back in 1986. He and his wife both had ‘Vettes, as he called them.

My dad bought a 1980 Chevy Caprise Classic...Body by Fisher!
I’m in Ohio but have been to the South OC Cars and Coffee a couple of times. Best C&C I’ve ever been to! And the location is great at the outlet mall.
I beg to differ. Porsche ran a 2.0 litre V4 twin turbo in their 919 Le Mans car. The engine alone put out 500 bhp. From a 2 litre twin turbo V4!!!
