Yeah our zoo fought tooth and nail to send them to another zoo, instead of a sanctuary where space was offered . Now one is dead .... Sending them to a sanctuary would have set a dangerous precedent for them, but I think this situation has actually has put another nail in the zoos coffin...
I was primarily addressing animals here in US zoos that some say are being protected from the dangers in their natural habitat. Rather then dangers they face overseas.
