The friend codes were traded online. It's pretty rampant.

You can still send dick pictures to random strangers you pass on the street.

Friendcodes were supposed to make it so kids can only talk to other people they know, but Nintendo didn't anticipate that the Internet exists. Friend codes were traded online.

I had suspected exactly this, and I don't necessarily blame Nintendo. It would be like finding your child stripping naked for strangers on the Internet from the computer in her room. I would likely immediately remove that computer from her room, ban her from the Internet, at least for a while, and she would probably

Holy tits! You've come a long way Notch.

I got 8 out of 16 right. I think this indicates that I can't tell the difference either.

Imagine a hot glue gun that lays down layer upon layer of molten material, slowly building up to the object you're going for. Only replace the crappy hot glue with molten plastic, and you'll get the idea.

They never called him Captain Nofingers again after he threw that 600mph softball in P.E.

If I was missing a hand, I would go crazy building my own prostheses. I would be like a cartoon Captain Hook, with a different attachable hand for every occasion. Blades, bottle openers, Wii remote holders, lasers, a metal detector, smartphone holder, camera, campers hatchet. You name it. I would have a stump

Eh, no not really. Those give you a very WASD kind of experience, and the little thumbsticks don't look terribly comfortable to use. Maybe something like the Razer Hydra, only for just one hand, and with more buttons.

And the XBone dudebro will respond by grunting loudly and crushing a beercan on his forehead.

I can tell the difference. It's just I tend to get used to the lower fidelity after a while. I have a brother-in-law who played his 360 on an HDTV with composite cables and had zero clue that it wasn't in HD. We got him an HDMI cable, and he was completely shocked. He had no idea what it was he was missing.

Well then, I guess there's nothing to worry about. Too bad Microsoft can't patch in a faster video processor and a lower price.

Most people won't be playing games running at different resolutions on different hardware side-by-side. If I go from play Soul Caliber 5 on PS3, then switch to Soul Caliber on the Dreamcast, the change is quite jarring. But eventually that difference fades away as I get into the game.

It's less about the game in this case. You'll get a similar experience no matter which platform you choose, and the difference in resolution will fade away as you play.

Hey, that looks really good actually. I was going to get a PS4, but in the wake of announcements that there are no media center functions on Sony's next gen offering, I'm considering building a Steam Machine instead.

I'm convinced that not everyone at Nintendo is on the same page regarding censorship, protecting children, connectivity, and mature content.

Digital distribution is the future. It's got some kinks to work out though. Namely, what happens when the system is discontinued and the servers are shut down? I can still plug an NES cartridge into my 23 year old NES and it works, how will I do that with digitally distributed games in 20+ years?
