Right because most Uber drivers are just doing this for fun??? Seems like a good way of spending a Friday night: “Hey Jonesie let’s go pick up drunk people all night long and hope they don’t puke or hook up in our backseats.”
Not really, because on a heavy traffic day, I drive past maybe 100 cars. Which is 0.00000379% of all vehicles registered in the US. The odds of me encountering one having a balljoint failure or a tire blowout right as I’m driving by it are minuscule, and that’s in a non-inspection State. I’d have a better chance of…
I hope my comment wasn’t taken as a dig against Scuderia Corsa. I am aware of their success in sportscar racing. My point was if you’re Ed Carpenter and you’ve got two teams approaching you for a partnership, each with the same number of recent Indy 500 starts, do you choose the team that has 53 years of history, 8 F1…
Hell no! ECR is an awesome independent team. McLaren can build their own.
1st gear: How about basic maintenance? This is one of the major failings of Uber/Lyft.et all: they don’t force drivers to service cars on a regular basis. I’d much rather ride in a car with a Takata airbag than one with a ball joint about to fail. One of things is far more likely to kill me and most drivers on the…
Looking back now, the writing was on the wall the moment that Carlin was announced as the technical partner for the McLaren effort. Penske as a partner was never going to happen, but the fact that ECR turned down the chance to work with McLaren is telling. Even moreso when you realize they DID partner with Scuderia…
My race camping tip is to not camp at all. Google for Hostels in the area. Not only are they usually cheaper than camping, but you get a guaranteed shower, toilet, and a real bed with a real roof over your head. You lose a bit of privacy unless you splurge on a room (which isn’t bad at all if you go with multiple…
This 100%. The smell is awful and it’s even worse when the trucks come to pump the stalls. Plus people will be in and out all night long. And you’re guaranteed to have someone piss or puke on your belongings at some point.
The value of clean Samurais is going to go up. They were plentiful and cheap for ages and most of them have been horribly abused in the last 30 years. Finding one this well maintained and rust free is a rarity now, but will get even harder in the future.
I’m sure most people here will think 13K is an insane price for a Samurai. And yeah it’s high, but considering nearly all Samis are now rusty, abused hulks, finding one this nice is a rarity. And if you did want to restore a Sami, you’d spend a lot more than 13K on it.
I would hope so, but if they do, Trump will just fire them. Over Twitter. Because this is the world we live in now.
Because the President said it, therefore it must be true.
The real key to this car is the chassis. If the unibody is truly rust free, then there’s definite hope for this MR2. Rust free or not, this is definitely not a 4K MR-2 though. $3000 would be fair if it drives and isn’t hiding a ton of rust.
It’s a regular Viper. Pretty much all the FD cars today have removable bodywork because fenders, bumpers, and hoods are now disposable items. Plus making them removable makes maintenance easier. There’s only 5 minutes between rounds for repairs so being able to fix things in that time period is pretty important.
It is not the same car. This is actually Deane’s second Viper.
Is Toyota working on a cross promotion with Sega and Paramount to do a special edition in yellow with extra boost that will be released in late October/early November of this year?
This was a tough one for me. I really like the car and the owner has clearly put in the effort. But is it worth $6K? I’m going with no, but with that type of seller if you bring your Z31 A-game you can talk him/her down a bit and get a good, solid car.
I’d extend that to “don’t track your daily driver.” I know there are thousands of Jalops who will disagree with that, but if you have the type of fancy pants job that allows you to think about a brand new toy, then you need to be able to get to that job every day. “I can’t come in this week because I blew my engine”…
This had better win CotD...
