I ended up selling the car almost immediately after that, I had been through multiple breakdowns and wanted out of my Mazda experience.

This reminds me of my last experience with the local Mazda dealer. Had a horrendous misfire in my Mazdaspeed3, but no CEL. Misfire was bad enough that it felt like the engine was shutting off for a split second then coming back on. First dealer trip they “could not replicate the issue.” Second trip I had the car towed…
OP deployed sarcasm. It was not very effective.
I bet the person who wrote this is also a Holocaust denier.
If I am sabotaging a car, I prefer to discreetly cut the fuel and/or brake lines. Not that I’ve ever tried to sabotage a car before...
The car wasn’t totally empty so it wasn’t “100% water.” But as I said in a different comment, there was definitely more water than drigas would handle. More to the point, I was trying to say Coke in your gas tank is far worse than water in your gas tank and that if you get some water in your gas it can be fixed…
Yeah I have no idea what the ratio of gas to water is OK but it’s not high. Assuming he only had 2-3 gallons of gas in the car, even a gallon of water is probably enough to do real damage. Add enough water and you end up with hydrolock.
Coke is way worse than gas. The sugar in the soda clogs up pumps, filters, and injectors. Sugar ruins fuel systems. Water, in low quantities, can be treated without replacing your entire fuel system, or even flushing. There are fuel additives you can add to your tank if water has been picked up over time. They…
You’re never going to get a muscle car, get it to 500 hp, AND make it handle rough roads for that budget. Well you can, but it’s going to kill you (hope you’re riding shiny and chrome). Do yourself a favor and start with a truck. Lift kits are cheap, they look sweet, and you have room for all of your survival gear.…
Heated wheel is where it’s at. Heated seats are nice too, but after driving a company car with a heated wheel, that’s what I would choose.
With the level of complexity in that engine, especially missing the hybrid system, dash, and transmission (which are all interconnected in the CAN-BUS), you’d be much better off just buying a racing ECU and wiring it up to the factory sensors. Also keep in mind without the key, there is no chance that original ECU…
And don’t forget the 1992 500 itself where a good portion of the field ended up in Methodist hospital, many of whom had leg and feet injuries. IndyCar got smart and immediately added about a foot of mandatory leg room in the 1993 rules.
There’s bound to be multiple FSAE posts here, so let’s get this ball rolling:
A) Industrial pollution is FAR more damaging to the environment than automotive emissions.
All of that styling looks great in the studio, but in the real world it’s going to be useless at best and dangerous at worst. That pretty screen will be unreadable under any kind of back lighting. Ever try using your phone with sun glare? This isn’t even counting how reflective it could be (and we know it is, you can…
Not necessarily. The reduced engine count for 2018 means teams will have to turn down the power to make the engines last. Sure there will be gains from the aero and chassis side, but they could easily be negated by the loss of power.
Holy crap Mike Huckabee tried to be a comedian? Drying paint is funnier than that dingbat is.
It is far more interesting as a time capsule. Restore it, but leave it in its final form. If anything the unique history should make it more valuable.
I wouldn’t say he was “the best part of the Indy 500" (since that’s the 500 itself), but he, along with Tom Carnegie, Linda Vaughn, and Paul Page gave life and vibrancy to a Sunday afternoon race. We’ll miss you Jim. I hope this is how they end your eulogy in Hawaii.
Y’all are so closed minded. Everyone here sees a clapped out Hyundai with a Ferrari body kit zip tied on. Sergio Marchionne sees how to further cut costs at Ferrari.
