Yes, and they’ve managed to not screw it up with politics! It’s like the old jalopnik is back.

Ummmmm

I hear ya.

Point being the new GT is unobtainable, yes, but the ‘04-06 was very attainable when it came out, and then dropped into the 60k range or less as used cars. How did those not make you stoked? They had me JACKED with excitement, but I had just built a new house started a family. #sad

HAHAHA! Me also, the other day I even paused and thought, WTF, have I become a fanboi? hahaha

I hope you’re right! That would be an unbelievable value for $70k......

Lifehacker: How to Clean All Those Buttons in the New Corvette

Dude I was OBSESSED with building a GTM 8yrs ago, for the exact reasons. Couldn’t afford a GT or italian car, that was the only other option. Build quality and fit/finish challenges were the only thing that stopped me from pulling the trigger.  This new stingray gives newfound hope!  Life is good now, holy fuck

Yes, there’s a reason pilots get buttons and not software screens layered 10 deep.  Keep your eyes on the sky (road)!

Doesn’t quite surpass the two last Ford GTs, but it’s a good equal IMHO.

Exactly. For all the complaining people do about GM quality, I literally think they’re actually pissed to see something good from the general.

Ahem

This!  I’ve been day dreaming of an affordable mid-engine car since I was a teenager, when it comes to turning over the rocks of the little details, all I want is MOAR!!!!!!!!!!!

Well the Z51 will be more money but not a giant leap more? I was assuming the more-comparable Z cars when they come out will be above $100k for sure. But hell even the base model will compete with the GT, or at least be pretty close to it?

Good writeup.

It’s going to be super embarrassing when a Z51 C8 beats the amazingly-underwhelming FGT around some racetrack (and sounds 100000x better doing it).

Ford will continue to sell each and every GT it cares to build, and for significantly more money. And it actually looks special.

Exactly.  For example, aren’t some of the european cars using GMs magnetic suspension tech?

Or gut one of these and do a tranny swap.

The environmentalists around here will surely complain that it’s not an EV. Because a handful of big V8 cars getting driven 3k miles per year, very slowly, is going to kill the planet!
