Oh yeah, some of them are brutal depending on the actual color formula, how much pearl (and what type/color of pearl).  I had to paint the entire side of a caddy once after simply replacing the fender.  Gorgeous colors, and I’m a fan of them, but they can be a headache to spot repair.

Since the trans is mated directly to the diff, it’s indeed a transaxle assembly in the ‘vette.

Makes sense, thanks for the reply I appreciate it. Always interesting to hear from people in the industry.

My therapist said I shouldn’t talk about blending tri-coat pearls.

Car guru I would be interested in your thoughts, as an engineer in the industry, on GM’s logic for this C8 decision, I read that they felt they needed to move to a mid-engine platform as they had exhausted all options for making a front engine platform perform much better on the track. Basically the C7 was the plateau

Yes but fenders are easier to replace than floorpans, cab corners, and floors.

LOL maybe you’re not aware of the rocker panel rust issue with 67-72 chevy’s......  Every one I find is swiss cheese.

That’s a new Jeep Gladiator on its lid, with its plastic front fender flare and its tonneau cover dangling onto the ground.

Journalism  ACTIVISM!!!

Exactly. Same logic applies for all of the motosports. But I’ve literally been told here on Jalopnik that there should be no exceptions, at all.  #gonzo

Don’t forget the enviro-nazis flooding jalopnik with shit like “you don’t need that big of an engine” because carbon footprint.

None of the big 3 stayed in business a decade ago without borrowing a train load of cash.  Ford was quicker on the trigger to go borrow (had less cash reserves IIRC) and got traditional lending.  By the time GM and Chrysler had to pull the trigger all the banks realized the risk was too high so it was the gov’t to the

All of this experience leads me to believe with little doubt, that you are just another “moar power” “no replacement for displacement” redneck without much real world experience outside of the rust tanks in your driveway.

I hate the nat’l debt and believe in 15yrs it’ll cripple us.

HAHAHA gear reduction works great for a little engine doing things slowly. I’ve done it for years. Things like rock crawling. Also works great in my new jeep, BTW, with the 3.6 and the rubi t-case that’s lower geared than a sahara case. But when I’m stuck in snow, gear reduction does not help, because wheel speed

I think he had a pickup on his car trailer, behind the raptor.  It had plenty of power and good brakes, it was the soft rear suspension that was the issue.  Not sure what the tongue weight of his trailer was, but it was OK on his last half ton with airbags, and was real bad on his raptor, it squated it down really

Ahh gotcha, so it’s up to you what people’s limit should be? A ZO6 should be banned because “people don’t need that kind of excess when a 4cyl miata would do just fine”, right?

LOL do you understand what low-RPM torque even means to a big pickup with big tires? Saying a little N/A V6 would out perform it in these conditions we’re discussing is so completely unhinged I wonder if you’ve already started drinking this morning????

I’m not saying you are completely fucked with a gutless engine in all conditions. I used to have a lot of fun in my 22re toyota on ‘33s when I was a kid. Love those little motors. I’m saying when conditions get real tough, i.e. real deep snow, real deep mud, sand dunes, etc a high torque/hp engine is a savior and

....very expensive social/environmental and political problems in large part because of insanely wasteful consumption.
