Good post. Deductions are often twisted as “subsidies” to make an industry, or certain group, look bad. It’s intellectually dishonest.

Big effort, lots of hard hikes each day, lots of elevation. Most of them are not too skittish though, so it’s not hard to get within kill range unless you’re bowhunting then obviously it’s much harder.

No high fence operation, i.e. game farm, is setup in terrain like that. At least not in N. America. They’re hunting on public land in that pic, guaranteed.

Not much skill in the actual kill (unless you’re using a bow), but the effort to find them is at the top of the scale.  Anti-hunters will scoff, but there is a lot of elevation, and days of going up and down.

Yeah, I do this on my ‘51 Ford F1.  Use the synchros of 2nd to stop the main shaft, then it slides up into 1st gear real easy.  Lots of old transmissions had a first gear with no synchros, mine included.
