3 of the 6 division winners were objectively inferior teams to at least one wild card team this season, though. The NY Yankees didn’t “limp into the postseason” with 100 wins while Cleveland “played better” with 91 wins.

It might not be. I just think it’s not as clear as saying it’s okay for journalists to have personal opinions and biases.

Apples and oranges, unless Bazelon has financial ties to either Kavanaugh or one of the accusers.

Because girls don’t get to play baseball, at least not in the Little League World Series… It just infuriates me to watch something that I’m excluded from.

Yawning can be a sign of anxiety in dogs, but I firmly believe that they also do it for the same reasons humans do. When my dog is sprawled out on the couch in between us getting his belly rubbed, and he stretches his paws out and yawns, I would bet any amount of money that he is not anxious in that moment.

Why?

I think that’s how every Cubs fan feels, watching their team that held sole possession of first place in the division from mid-July through September 28 still lose the division.

I have to confess, I really don’t understand articles like this.

The franchise tag (and artificially low rookie contracts) are one thing, but Earl Thomas is playing out the last year of a 4-year deal he signed as a free agent. Why should the Seahawks be obligated to extend him with a new contract in order to get him to finish out the one he’s on?

No, it’s actually the opposite.

What does the franchise tag have to do with Earl Thomas? He’s never been tagged and was not playing under the tag this season.

This is why you should never criticize a football player for trying to get paid.

I generally hate the Yankees, but man it is unfair that they won 100 games and have to play an elimination game. (They also went 9-10 head to head against the Red Sox, so it’s not like you can argue that poor play against the Red Sox was the primary reason they lost to them).

I really hate the way MLB does the playoffs. The two teams with the best record in the National League have to play an extra game and then the loser of that game could very well be eliminated from the playoffs tomorrow. At a minimum, even if they’re going to continue with the stupid one-game wild card, they could go

Yeah...he may still go down as a bust, but at least he put together one game to point to when his detractors say “what has Mitch ever shown to make you think he might be good?”

“Fringe MVP candidate”

Never forget: police officer is the only job in the world where they disqualify you for being too smart.

That’s definitely why him picking Jeff Lynne is funny. I also think it’s funny/random that a dad trying to demonstrate that he knows a lot about his 8-year-old daughter would reference the Traveling Wilburys in the first place.

To me, the most important question to ask the Cubs right now is: when did they know that Russell was physically abusing his wife? Even before the 2017 investigation, it had been said that the Cubs front office was aware of and concerned about Russell’s “messy” personal life. Now, I fully realize the distinction

“Who’s your favorite Traveling Wilbury, Lisa? Is it Jeff Lynne?”
