My dad was an architect, and his biggest pet peeve was how every movie and TV show made architects a) wealthy/famous, and b) perpetually working on skyscrapers and fancy/high-profile buildings.

54% of Republicans polled would still support Kavanaugh if they knew for a fact that he was a rapist. (http://maristpoll.marist.edu/npr-pbs-newshour-marist-poll-national-survey-results-and-analysis/#sthash.ty04IDoW.eI93bipj.dpbs).
You can’t think that movies matter, or music matters, and then argue that video games don’t.
Corporations are, and always have been, amoral. That’s okay...it’s just why we shouldn’t let them run our government.
That’s theoretically possible, but an awful lot of work for a very questionable return since those three pieces of information alone aren’t much.
As an introvert, my goal is to spend approximately 0% of my leisure time in a room with a bunch of strangers or near-strangers, so this would be in direct opposition to that goal.
I think once you’ve decided that Bowyn, Ryder, and Raiden are acceptable names, everything else is immaterial.
I don’t see how a first name and birth date is possibly going to do any harm. Strangers won’t know the kid’s last name, and anyone in your circle of friends/family probably knows first, last, and date of birth already.
They’re putting in more and more of these in my state (Wisconsin), which would be fine if the majority of drivers here didn’t drive like mentally challenged chimpanzees.
The only argument against it that I have heard is that the technology isn’t there yet because of how the strike zone is supposed to be dynamic based on the batter, but I’m not sure how true that is. Logically, with the stuff technology can do it seems like determining the strike zone would be doable.
The lack of a payoff was what disappointed me the most, too. Halfway through the season I was very impressed by how much watching this show felt like reading a King novel...the way it would suddenly shift to another character and take its time with that person’s backstory. But you nailed it: for good or for bad (and…
One other thing that bothered me along those lines: what purpose did it serve to introduce Desjardins (the creepy barber in the woods)? Maybe I’m missing something, but in retrospect he feels like a giant waste of time. They had fewer than 10 hours to tell a story and spent way too much time meandering around.
And they never have to do anything else if they don’t want to. They don’t want to work late or come in early to help complete a project they don’t have to.
Financial literacy in this country is probably even worse than actual literacy, and that’s saying something.
Ultimately the problem with NFL contracts is twofold: the contracts aren’t fully guaranteed, and rookies are getting screwed.
I have mixed feelings about this, because I’m not sure what value a 30-year-old veteran gets out of practice during the season. (I assume he’s attending all meetings and putting in 100% effort into game-planning, since he’s obviously not incurring any risk of injury by doing so). On one hand, playing in games is the…
Yeah, everything I’ve read about him indicates that he’s an asshole, but lots and lots (probably the majority) of hyper-competitive, incredibly rich athletes are assholes. Cheating on his wife definitely makes him a bad guy, but it’s not a crime nor should it be. The only transgression of his that really matters to me…
He’s on pace to be defensive player of the year, but let’s pump the brakes on saying he’s elevated the Bears defense singlehandedly. They were 14th in the league in DVOA last season and returned their defensive coordinator plus all of their good players plus added a very promising first round MLB in the draft. The…
I hate the way they’re calling roughing the passer right now, if for no other reason than they’ve forced me to sympathize with Clay Matthews, but blaming his ACL tear on him supposedly choosing to land a different way is highly suspect to me. Unless he or the Dolphins can produce some data to indicate that the way he…
Chris Conte has a job and Eric Reid does not. The NFL is terrible.
