Brady is the most decorated QB, but he’s not the GOAT. There are other guys who have a statistical argument for superiority (Aaron Rodgers for sure), and he has benefited from playing his entire career for arguably the greatest coach of all time.

I think the NBA would intervene if LeBron tried to go to the Warriors on a minimum salary not because of the destination but because of the contract. Sure, there are athletes who have accepted a contract that is clearly less than their maximum value (Tom Brady), but it’s never been so blatant as a minimum salary deal.

A bidet would be great at home, but what about those of us who end up playing a lot of road games? The awful, rough toilet paper at work is killing me slowly.

One of the many reasons his death was tragic is that the world never got to experience DFW on Twitter.

One of the things I keep coming back to is how we’ve shifted from a group of people who largely want to hear from people who are better informed than they are (even if the biases of said people vary) to people who deride knowledge and actively seek out people who can’t possibly be expected to have an expert opinion on

I agree that the rules are generally a lot looser at home, but it does bug me when someone agrees to watch a movie that I think is pretty good, and then dicks around on their phone and doesn’t pay attention the entire time. If you don’t want to watch it, then say you don’t want to watch it. Otherwise, give it a chance.

You know what really bugs me at the movies? When the movie you’ve paid to see is at a quiet, emotionally intense moment, and the other moviegoers are respectfully quiet, and all you can hear is the tremendously loud sound effects from the action movie du jour playing in the next theater. That pisses me off.

Extremely casual NBA fan here. I know that the NBA differs from the other 3 leagues in how one great player can transform a team; that said, isn’t it still true that you can’t really judge an NBA draft until a couple of years have passed? Being able to categorically say that the Kings screwed up strikes me as

I might have gone a little harder than I meant to with that first post. I agree that there’s a substantive difference between getting together with people to reconnect and going out in the wilderness to appreciate said wilderness. (Also, it’s obvious that there’s also big difference between, say, a campground that’s

Okay, I’ll be that guy. If you claim to enjoy nature and also need to plan your camping trip around various substances, it might be time to reevaluate your relationship to said substances.

I think that the last, oh, 18 years of the Simpsons are simultaneously a) not nearly as good as the golden era classic episodes, and b) still as funny or funnier than the average network TV show in the 2000s.

Mike Trout is in Barry Bonds territory

Amen to that. I look back at my skinny self (6'1" and 130 pounds sophomore year of high school) and weep. I’ve made it down from 233 at my highest to 217 now, and I’ve been stuck at that plateau for a few months. I would kill to be unable to gain weight.

Buying a car is so bad because we’ve been conditioned not to blow up at people when they’re openly trying to screw us over. So we bite our tongues in the dealership and then spend a long time afterwards regretting not tearing the salesman a new one.

Yeah, he is earning $34M this year and each of the next two, and will have earned a total of $144.5M over the 6-year deal. He made a decision to sign an extension early rather than play for relative peanuts through his mid-20s and hopefully cash in in free agency.

Don’t interpret this as a shot at Mike Trout, because it’s not, but he is the exact reason why I don’t want my team to ever sign a marquee free agent. He is the best player in baseball right now, and even though he’s earning $34M he’s still underpaid, and his team is still dog crap. (And he’s been reasonably healthy!

Yup. I just came back from a long road trip and while the basic directions were pretty simple when switching from interstate to interstate, I can remember times when it seemed counterintuitive (staying on the same numbered highway, but technically taking the exit ramp to do it). I’d be quite likely to guess wrong at

As a private citizen, Mike Leach is entitled to his personal opinions. Coach Leach’s political views do not necessarily reflect the views of Washington State University students, faculty and staff.

If he falls to the 6-10 range, is it really such a bold move for a team to take him? The way I see it, if you’re picking in that range the odds are stacked against you getting a franchise-changing player anyway. Everybody says that Porter could be that level of talent, but the injury is the question mark.

I think any state that legalizes sports gambling but only at physical locations is kind of dumb. Let people do it right from their phones and tablets.
