I actually read what you wrote. I still vehemently disagree with all of it.

Agreed. Someone tries to break into my home for 20 minutes (and the cops still haven't arrived) and I'm well within my rights to protect myself. Add a baby to that mix...I mean...it's not even a question.
It's hard to calculate how much money I would spend on a well-designed plus size line by Tim Gunn. DO IT MAN.
Hmm. I don't know...the running time for my film was 152 minutes - but that's how IMDB lists the film as well (and IMDB should be using the original time, not "the american release")...the internet is telling me that the difference between the 152 and 180 is "pal speed up" in the transition between European and…
Can you tell me what's missing between the two so that I'll know if I saw the "correct" one or not?
I have nothing as insightful to say as those that came before me. But only to say that you will be okay. This too shall pass.
Best. Thing. Ever.
Honestly 2012 was so damn bipolar for me. So much good so very much bad. Hope for even more of the former and far less of the latter this year...because I am greedy.
Okay...reporting back (not that anyone asked me to) but I just finished watching the Swedish original and I have to say, for me, though it was a good movie, the Fincher is far superior.
Hmmm...the internet is telling me that the difference is "pal speed up" and not related to content cut. Is the internet steering me wrong?
Ack. Crap. Will see what I can do.
Yeah. I have to agree with others below. She can absolutely look a more innocent beautiful...and she has very fine facial features...ones that do in ways resemble Audrey Hepburn...just a quick google search brings up plenty of images that allow me to see why he'd make that comparison:
Yeah, I haven't seen the original (planning to see it today) but I find this review to be really inaccurate about the Fincher filml. I don't know what "token" story changes he's talking about but the changes were minimal at best and Salander is absolutely still the badass star of this piece. She is absolutely in…
I haven't seen the original yet (planning to see it today and expect to like it as well given all I've heard)...but what "Huge chunks of the plot...were deleted or changed"...I can think of only one major/significant change and given the dynamics of adaptation I did not think it was a bad decision and it didn't…
MrPhil - Thank you so much for the correction! I'll note it on my original post and let Jezebel know, though I don't know if they can/will modify the post.
I liked Manhunter a lot. And its loss was unfortunate if only because there are so few strong female led titles in mainstream superhero comics - especially female led titles that don't also trade pretty heavily in blatant T&A. I don't think it was the best comic book EVER, or the best ever female led comic book…
Well, I have officially solicited Jezebel to be their "roving comics correspondent". While I would love to do more regular pieces (of course) I too would love to see comics content more regularly, no matter who they tap to write it.
I ALMOST put Trudy Cooper on the list because Oglaf is the BEST. She totally belongs on here...but many other women do I suppose. Next year!
Read more carefully - she was on last year's list - as noted in the second paragraph - the piece is also linked to in the first sentence.
This list focused on creators who had work published in 2011. To my knowledge in 2011 Wilson has only written the Marvel mini-series Mystic and an issue of Superman, neither of which I particularly cared for. I know a lot of people love her work though...and maybe she'll do something epic in 2012...I'd love to have…
