Will do my absolute best. We’re having a ton of fun!

James! Thanks so much for the nice piece. I’m so glad you liked it! I love these weirdo misfits, and we’re really excited about the response so far. Glad to have you on board!

Yes, Jerrica Benton uses a hologram technology that goes by the name Synergy (which is basically sentient AI) to become Jem (i.e. wear a “hologram disguise” called Jem). She wears these red jemstar earrings that communicate with Synergy and act as “holographic projectors” (and in the comic, when she’s Jem the earrings

Gisele Lagace.

In both the comic book and the cartoon, Hologram Technology on this level doesn’t exist in the wider world so revealing that a person everyone thought was real is in fact a hologram would be a pretty big deal I think (I’m obviously pretty biased here). The tech would also be a pretty big deal (and there are lots of

In the cartoon there is not really much of a reason. In our comic book Jerrica is a talented singer and songwriter but she suffers from crippling stage fright.

I’m obviously biased, but I agree. Jem and Jerrica are wildly different heights (at a minimum - some of their physical similarities depends a bit on artist interpretation obviously) when it comes to physical differences AND Jem and Jerrica are often literally in the same place at the same time thanks to the Hologram

Yes, thank you! Starts in June - JEM: INFINITE. 6-issue crossover between a Jem book and Misfits book (both with new #1s). Here’s some more info:

Here’s some info on “what’s next” - starting in June:

Our plan was always to have Jerrica at least reveal herself to Rio - at least as a first step. We just weren’t sure when it would happen though.

Ah. I see thanks to another commenter that I misread the Veronica Mars comment...I still find it pretty confusing TBH, but I see now how it’s intended. Apologies for the misread!

I see what you’re saying...but man is that a misleading sentence. Responded to my post to clarify. Thanks for the heads up!

I assume you mean the “Hawkeye Vision” we use in the book. Or maybe you’re just talking about the narration captions? I’m not sure. Either way I write all of that pretty tightly into the book. But Leo, Jordie, and I (and editors Sana Amanat and Charles Beacham) all developed the concept and execution of the “Hawkeye

Somehow...possibly because I was doing a few interviews about Hawkeye at the same time and got confused about what I’d said where...but also possibly because I am a narcissistic asshole...I neglected to talk once about my insanely gifted art team in this whole interview.

Um. Veronica Mars’ father was not an “insurance agent” he was a PI who owned Mars Investigations (and he was formerly a police detective and the Sheriff).

I AM the creator of this comic (or one of them) and I’m sorry if I’m taking it too much to heart - I’m usually pretty good at dealing with criticism, I’m certainly used to it at this point - but I just don’t understand the point in tearing down a comic for kids by comparing it unfavorably to a very different comic for

Yeah, please don’t call me buddy.

Good! Lots of conflicting data in my systems, but I’m hopeful. :)

I so don’t understand this comment.
