Best elevator action scene: Winter Soldier.

I feel like with every album Taylor releases, the reviews always say she’s “really matured with this one.”

And I’m a fan, but even I’ll tell you her songs often resemble those passive aggressive Facebook posts your friend makes without mentioning anyone by name.

That elevator in Drive was definitely realistic enough, size-wise, to where you can stomp a guy’s head into mush.

Its amazing how bad AVClub is at just about everything

A visualist director with a fresh-voiced writer IS a creative chance for a franchise film. Wonder Woman. Thor: Ragnarok. Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol. The Road Warrior. The Wrath of Khan. THE EMPIRE STRIKES BACK. I could take some time and list more but all a franchise has to do is take a chance to be reborn.

Well, we’ve gotten a few breathtaking Bond movies so far. I stand up for Sam Mendes any day with his work with Spectre and Skyfall.

Well sure, with that attitude!

Maybe Daniel Craig will literally phone in his performance for the next Bond movie.

I think the idea of superheroes as celebrities was woven into Marvel Comics almost from its inception, but it was more reflective of the cheek by jowl way all strata of society coexisted in the New York of the ‘60s (Marvel’s dominant fictionalized milieu) than Hollywood. Superheroes were regularly idolized and/or

You sound whinier then Eminem right about now.

Supergirl is extraordinarily good on this, it is extremely refreshing. The Kara-Lena-Samantha scenes in the last episode for example (them bonding, but also working, and investigating, and being moms and sisters) are like virtually nothing else you would see on TV.

Hopper leaving Eleven alone at his cabin to watch soap operas all day in retrospect was not the greatest idea.

Also - and I can’t stress this enough - she’s been watching a lot of television.

It’s probably not a coincidence that two of my favourite recent shows are Jessica Jones and GLOW.

You’d think a 13 year old girl who’s been raised in a laboratory and spent the entire previous year locked in a cabin in the woods would behave rationally in that situation!

I really enjoyed Wonder Woman but it was a particular disappointment that after a great introduction, the amazon women are completely absent from the rest of the movie. Especially since Robin Wright was the kind of powerful, non-sexualized badass so rare in superhero movies. I kept holding out for something, anything

And when two female characters the same age meet, they’re positioned in opposition, and not as friends. Because there can be only girl, amirite? Eleven hating Max immediately really rubbed me the wrong way, especially because it’s implied she reacts to Max that way because she’s possessive of Mike. Aka bitches be

That was Matt Smith.

I can’t wrap my head around this. The first season was great and ended on a perfect note. There is no more to do with the story. But I can’t complain, it will be a pleasure to see this amazing cast work together again to showcase more of these incredible characters.

Almost. Films are shot on 65mm, but finished to 70mm. (The additional 5mm is for the sound.)
