The Internet needs to take a photography class.

So to summarize: phone camera’s have terrible white balance

This seems really, really dumb - it’s nothing like the dress, which actually did switch colours on me several times. This is just - hey, different lighting can make colours look different. Which is something I’ve known since I was a toddler.

That is amazing.

I saw it several hours ago. I loved it, and I think it’s better then the original. Fantastic storytelling.

It is better than the original in that it takes what made the original good: the incredible, unique and lived in world and crafts an interesting and believable story on top of it. It really makes the original feel like a prologue.

Within cells: interlinked. Within cells: interlinked. Within cells: interlinked.

Leto was awful. And had no other side to him except for some kind of god complex thing I guess. Wright could have used more humanity to counter K, but yeah, I had all the same feelings as you from this. Thanks for making me not feel alone in not gushing over it.

It is a long movie, but I was not bored. My knees started hurting after 2 hours but that happens with most films I see in the movie theater. The movie, to me, was worth it.

Just came home from watching it. Exhausted, but utterly mesmerized. Such a beautiful piece of movie magic. Villenueve is further cementing his place among the best directors of the last few decades.

I adore long movies, honestly. But I sure get a sore butt from them in my local cinema which kind of hampers the enjoyment a little.

I’m honestly shocked that the film is that good. I’m honestly shocked that the film is good at ALL, frankly. A sequel to Blade Runner is a tough act to follow, and it’s very hard to capture its enigmatic spirit in an age where viewers want the director to do all the thinking for them.

Can I say how glad I am that these Emma Stone-as-Asian/whitewashing jokes refuse to die? They make my soul dance.

I think he’s finally found a role that fits his natural liveliness and energy.

The noodle shop owner where K eats is played by Emma Stone.

When Harrison Ford bothers to show up he’s an excellent, deceptively casual actor. So casual that his skill is often taken for granted. I’m glad he’s engaged in his work again. He hasn’t seemed to care since K-19 and Hollywood Homicide flopped one right after the other.

“What a waste of a dreary, rainy, pollution-laden night.”

I have to say I feel the same way. The original film has memorable visuals and music, and deserves its place in history; but is almost soporific in its slow pace and lack of emotion or drama (outside of a few scenes). I realise the general coldness of it is part of the point, but it makes it a difficult film to love,

I’m glad to hear the bit about Deakins working with a wide color palette, because everything I’ve seen of this, even the stills featured here, make it look like another big ol’ garish blob of orange and blue. I mean, hell, look at Ford up there. Is he sitting in a room made entirely of cheddar cheese?

I swear if Deakins doesn’t FINALLY get his Oscar for this one...
