Why would that have mattered anyway? Tomatoes are a big part of may cultures diets and have been for a long time now. Her being part Italian or even right off the boat full Italian doesn’t make it any worse for her than a lot of people who cook with and just happen to like tomatoes.   

So. I’m part Scottish and if I develop an allergy to haggis I don’t think it will change my life. But seriously, does part Italian mean you are any more required to enjoy or have predisposition to tomatoes than if you were part Dutch, or any other race/nationality? Is this still the 16th century? Simply charge a premium on better filtered water, and if they want it free, give them a styrofoam cup and point them to the restroom sink. This law and notion that free water has to be provided at places the serve alcohol is BS.
