Don’t ever work/deal with federal IT. They literally have to test EVERY damn software to make sure there is no compatibility or security issues (heaven forbid you end up in a ‘secure’ environment, because that stuff is WAY worse). A year is about normal for doing all that testing. I’ve worked with a couple of agencies…
Boy I hope this doesn’t start happening to me ...
Except VC’s don’t see it as protecting them, they see what he was doing as screwing them. The VC’s wanted to see a minimally viable product developed so they could sell out at a big profit. They don’t give a shit about whether the product will actually work in the long term, it is all about short term gain.
Bingo! This is what I’ve been saying. The computers are good enough to keep the truck on the road, to follow directions, to miss most of the obvious obstacles.
Sad to see that someone with a balanced take and conscious understanding of the actual needs of the industry essentially forced out due to lack of funding. This is the kind of person I want developing this technology, not a bottom-line focused investment firm or “disruptive tech” bro.
I still don’t get how people find the “digital personal assistants” more useful than doing things for yourself. Every time I see my friend using his Alexa he just looks like a jackass trying to show off.
I was going to say exactly the same thing. $25k for a sedan that looks like this is absolutely remarkable, it’s not stunning but it’s got damned refined lines and definitely hits way above its weight class. Color me impressed.
I don’t really think it looks beautiful, but it certainly doesn’t look cheap. Anyway, I think Hyundai is going the right way by continuing to sink money into sedans. People who drive sedans these days are probably less concerned with impressing people than those that drive the more fashionable SUVs, trucks and…
Let’s take a moment and remember the old days. I can’t even believe these are from the same company.
has pricing starting at $23,400
It just takes one image, and the knowledge that it starts at under $60k to answer this question:
If you haven’t owned one, I know you won’t understand, but these cars are in a category that really only belongs to... well, people who love cars.
Andrew this is a really bad opinion.
Agreed. Andrew writes like he’s living in a self-inflicted “Dark Mode” where he can’t focus on anything other than himself.
I’ve gone dark every chance I get with my interfaces. I’ve been doing it ever since Microsoft let you tweak your UI with a custom pallete. So if 20+ years is a fad... *shrug* I am a programmer though, so your mileage may vary.
Umm. Not blowing my eyeballs out when using my phone at night is by FAR the most valuable reason. And barely even mentioned here. It’s the most practical application by far, and absolutely legit. Must we shit on everything?
What’s with all these blue shirts? You think blue shirts are cool? blue shirts are BULLSHIT. Here’s a weird swerve at some actor to prove my point.
i can’t believe i bothered reading this.
When Chris Tucker and Idris Elba are up for the same role you know white people are making the decisions.
I know just how the NSX feels. I was given a weight penalty for dominating the first half of the Golden Corral buffet.
