I don’t get the Hypebeast trend. why do people pay money to look like they have no style at all. they are just wearing things because they’re expensive.

Weren’t these hugely popular in some African countries? for some villages this was the first car they ever saw.
I own one, only costed me NZ$2800. it’s a BMW E46 with the N42 which some fans say to avoid. Outside of having to replace the Transmission and engine oil cooler it’s been fairly reliable and economical so far.
Buying a 3500HD Silverado for family duties is like using a Katana to slice up a birthday cake, yeah you think you look bad ass while doing it, but it’s incredibly overkill.
They are quite common on Japanese imports that come into New Zealand.
Talking about toys. ever thought to do an article on Majorette? they did a Volkswagen K70 back in the 70's.
Really what happened to the world car idea? This would do well in Australia and NZ! might be better for most people who own Hilux’s and Rangers that keep tailgating me in my green E46 coupe. I kind of want one of these if they sell them in single cab. With the 2.0 turbo of course because I dislike CVT’s.
I will be here waiting for a single cab variant. Some people would prefer more bed space and less interior space.
If it was a i6 sedan maybe. Those full size american sedans from the era can be surprisingly reasonably priced. at least if you consider less than US$20,000 reasonable. They were the Camry’s of their day.
Sorta the opposite. looks too shitty for the time the show was set in. Maybe it should have been an early Geo Metro (guessing those would have been shitty looking by 2002.).
Could use the “inheritance” excuse but even then.
They could have gone for an 80's or 90's Bronco because at least they can use the “it’s my grandfathers, dad’s or crazy uncle who went to prison’s old Bronco”.
The only other issue is that the cars they were making were crap. They later fell on selling to brand loyalists who bought Holdens “because someone in my family had one”.
Honestly I don’t get the Manual hype, at least with an automatic (or in this case a DCT) it’s less stressful when you allow (or have to allow because we can’t be too possessive) someone else to drive your car.
If Holden Australia was a bit more smart with exports (not just exporting the performance models to the US and Europe) maybe Holden would still be here today.
Yeah but Beetle RSi. Sucks that they are absurdly rare and expensive tho. Maybe they should have given us a more regular and affordable model, even if it’s just a glorified appearance package.
Looks like it would have been a great Mercedes or BMW alternative. It’s a fitting Grand National successor. Imagine that thing in black.
They are small cars in person. It’s not like the A80 was the pinnacle of car design either.
The OG Accord was just a big Civic.
Some people just want a comfortable car with minimal surprises, they aren’t as adventurous as us and want to buy awfully unreliable sporty shitboxes.
