The Squareback/Variant is definitely one of my favorite of the Aircooled VW’s as its not a Beetle and it’s not the “I’m wealthy but I want to be a poor surfer/hippie” VW Type 2. I guess it’s the Aircooled VW for weird enthusiast hipster types. Too bad there aren’t many of them in the Diecast car world.
What about a Chevrolet Suburban? you could easily take out the rear seats, get some signwriting done on the side and retrofit some tool draws to convert it into a good work vehicle.
What about the Pajero Sport? I was also gonna suggest the Triton but yeah, Chicken Tax.
Yeah, apparently that gen of Swift is regarded as unsafe here in New Zealand. it has a 1 star safety rating, not that us car people care as we would be driving glorified go karts if we had our way.

Man wish I could buy one of my dream cars in the same fashion as buying one of many Tomica Limited Vintage cars.
Kinda. 265 on the right.
Semi Stripper models would make sense for something like the Mustang. allowing the buyer to save on semi creature comforts so they can put their money into accessories like a Body kit or decal package. As that was what made the Mustang successful in the first place.
Because people will say they don’t want something but then when they don’t have it they will complain. It’s like Boomers complaining about cell phones.
They can sell dress up kits resembling famous race cars. they can make money off selling accessories like with Pick up trucks (Utes here in NZ).

Hence S Chassis Reboot. do something with Mitsubishi to save development costs. as the 90s S chassis cars become more collector cars there will be a fresh train of Nostalgic past or want to be owners wanting to get into a new car especially if the old ones hit new GT86 money.
