none of my generator sets spin at 3600 rpm, not one of them. they are all regulated to 1800 rpm, and they range from a 15kw kohler with a kohler engine to a V-18 Cummins Onan that is rated at 2.75 megawatts.

sorry, had technical difficulties in posting this. this is the engine dodge uses in the ram, cummins calls it the ISB. it's not quite as hot in a medium truck. the next size up is the ISL which goes up to 1250 ft-lbs of torque
if I needed to tow that much weight, I wouldn't do it with a one ton truck. I'd want something a little bigger.

Ford does offer this engine in the f-650/ f 750. but it's nowhere near big enough for OTR trucking.

Hey Andrew, you gotta remember the Super Duty is at the end of it's cycle and is due to be refreshed in 2016 I think. I will agree with you though, I've never been a fan of the two huge bars that Ford chose to use as a grille. Let's hope the next one looks a lot better
