Honda K24 or similar engine? I use a 1 liter soda bottle with the upper 1/3 cut off. Loosen the filter, then put the soda bottle over it and use the sides of the bottle to unscrew it. The filler will fall off in the bottle and catch all the oil. Learned this from an Acura service tech.
